Catticati\'s agricultural and pastoral performances have a proud history as the oldest event in town and continue to do what started more than 100 years ago in true Irish fashion --
Bring together urban and rural people.
Sunday, February 3 was a 97 show at Uretara Domain and showgrowth.
The first A & P show was held in 1913 and no show was held during the war years.
Louellen Davies, president of the show, said that catticati was recently recognized as the avocado capital of New Zealand and that it was A considerable achievement, coupled with the catticati A & P show.
\"Over the years, our show has changed as orchard and lifestyle blocks have replaced several beef and dairy farms.
\"While we are not able to have our beef and cow parts this year due to the outbreak of Mycoplasma bovis, we expect to return in the near future.
While they will be seriously missed, it is gratifying to see that there is no farm in Fengyu Bay that is infected with this terrible disease.
\"The strongest men\'s competition sponsored by Clay Mark Sawmills will be held at the show, with top competitors from New Zealand and Australia participating.
The match is a qualifying match for Easter\'s 2019 strongest men\'s race in New Zealand in Auckland. Hour-
Four long games will be held in the next day.
\"Sponsors, big and small, are precious because there is no show without them,\" said Louellen . \".
\"The catticati show plus a great Committee was very lucky.
\"Local commercial small house Construction Co. , Ltd will display one of their small houses.
People can ask some questions in the house.
There will be food and snacks under the oak tree, or try avocado ice cream.
Bruce Polly and Clyde sdale Royal of Tauranga will return with Clyde sdale\'s friends again this year.
\"These are so beautiful and gentle animals that we are honored to have them on our show.
\"The Pet Zoo is popular and free, as are the face-painted and dazzled balloon ladies.
For the children, at the age of 12, there was a lollipop in the pony circle competing.

BNZ has been very supportive, there is an ATM in the gate this year and people can get cash if needed.
AVOCO axemen will have a chop presentation in half an hour from ten o\'clock A. M. to three o\'clock P. M. , expertly managed by the local Val Baker.
\"While Waiting and enjoying the show, have a beer under the big oak tree.
\"Horse Festival has always been very popular and there are already many entries on the same day.
This year is particularly interested in the $150 top points show Hunter Award sponsored by Aongatete Coolstores and Waihi A & P Association.
The winner also got a three.
Colored belts and silver ornaments for one year, so this event is well worth attending.
Volunteers at the West Bay Museum will share their butter, flour, corn flour and ropes.
Let everyone see the skills.
They are always interested and part of the show.
Come and adopt a greyhound and see how the English caravan in Alexandria, or the classic car, is.
Smithy always has a machine worth showing and vintage
Back to the agricultural machinery of the past.
The family industry is also a wonderful part of the show, with some wonderful crafts, pickles, jams, kid areas, sauces like mom used to make.

The catticati Wrestling Club will hold demonstrations and competitions throughout the day, and no show will be complete without Highland dancing.
With a side show, coffee carts, food caravans, a place to trade and more, it will be a great day.
