The Times learned that former members of Congress tried to return to Parliament in Thursday\'s general election and spent thousands of pounds on home luxury goods weeks before leaving the House of Commons in 2005.
Their claims include an air purifier, a TV, a bar set and a DAB radio.
Other expenses required for initial disclosure under freedom of information requirements include the bill for the member\'s son to paint the house, an oak table of 424, a bed of 1,000 and a light bulb.
Revenue from six members of 2001 Parliament will rekindle the spending scandal, a key battleground for the Conservative party to either defend or chase a minority majority.
