Delhi government suspends plan to install air purifiers in schools

Two days after the Delhi government instructed city schools to install air purifiers to combat air pollution, the government decided to suspend the plan on Tuesday.
\"The directive has been put on hold for the time being and comes into effect immediately,\" wrote an advisory document issued by the Education Bureau (DoE) to the school.
However, it does not specify any reason for suspending the instruction within a few days of issuing it.
The Department of Energy sent a letter to schools on April 26 asking them to install air purifiers to ensure that students do not face health hazards due to air pollution.
\"Environmental air quality in Delhi needs to be improved.
\"Given that poor ambient air quality is a great hazard to human health, schools should take action to install air filters as needed,\" it wrote . \".
It also requires schools to let students know about the adverse effects of the use of fireworks during the festival on public health.
Schools are required to submit compliance reports within the next 15 days.
