sharper image’s founder is out in shake-up

27,200sharper Image said yesterday that the founder of the company, Richard Taylor, was under pressure from a group of shareholders who were dissapointed by the company\'s recent performance, I resigned as chairman and chief executive.
The company appointed Jerry W, one of the investors with different opinions.
Levin served as chairman and interim chief executive and said he would start looking for a permanent chief executive. Mr.
Levin was elected to the board of directors of Sharper Image in July.
The company, based in San Francisco, has been in trouble because of increased competition and poor publicity, and the decline in sales of ion Breeze air purifiers, its important profit driver.
As of Monday, the company\'s share price fell 27% in the year, and sales fell 12% in the previous fiscal year to $648. 9 million.
