A company in Winnipeg is trying to attract people by traveling at a discount, asking them first about health issues and then selling them expensive vacuum cleaners.
Paul Panchyshyn said he received a call from "Winnipeg health" before Christmas, "if he took part in a telephone survey on allergies and air quality, the other person gave him a chance to get a $500 travel voucher.
"I think this is a legitimate investigation.
"They never revealed it was a vacuum sales strategy," Panchyshyn said in an interview with CBC News . ".

Two weeks later, Panchyshyn received another call from "Winnipeg Health" saying that a representative had to come to his house to drop the travel voucher.
The calls turned out to be from a telemarketer at Winnipeg health systems, which claims to be a distributor of air purifiers and vacuum cleaners.
When the representative appears, "he is on the roller with a large bag.

"I keep telling him I don't need to be so high --
He said, 'Oh, it's okay.

In the long demo of a salesman selling thousands of dollars worth of air purifiers and vacuum cleaners, Panchyshyn did not get his travel voucher.
Instead, he got a brochure from another company telling him to pay another $50 and provide credit card information.
"At the end of the day, I think, well, yes, it's a complete waste of my time," Panchyshyn said . ".

The Winnipeg Regional Health Authorities say they have received six phone calls asking about the behind-the-scenes of the phone investigation.
"We assure callers that we have no contact with the company or the investigation," WRHA spokesman Heidi Graham told CBC News . ".

Silva said the complaints received by the Better Business Bureau about the Winnipeg Health system came from those who generally believed they were misled.
