Now I know that some of you are thinking that I will never do a beauty job, and there are others who think that I may secretly get the work dome, and then there are others who will be the first to say yes, yes, yes, fix my face with your amazing hands.
At this point, I personally have changed my position many times.
I'm a 44-year-old African-American woman who heard and said "black don't crack" from an early age, but that's not exactly right.
Black "crack", it may not crack at the same time as other skin tones.
No matter what skin color you are, plastic surgery and beauty enhancement have become mainstream.
Nip and tuck are no longer a quiet, quiet secret today.
Now women are talking about cosmetic surgery, just like they are talking about their favorite hair stylists.
Even celebrities like Wendy Williams are talking about getting down the knife.
So the question is, why does plastic surgery come out of the closet and become a new fountain for the young?
I'm curious that plastic surgeons will tell me what I need, so I went undercover to visit a few plastic surgeons for consultation (
None of them knew I was a writer and they all thought I was just a new patient).
My first visit was with Dr.
Plastic surgery surgeon Ramtin Kassir located on Park Avenue, New York City.
The office was warm and welcoming, and there were several other women in the waiting area.
I started looking around and wanted to know what programs each of them had.
Of course, I also want to know if they have the same opinion on me.
When it was my turn, I followed the doctor.
Kassir walked into his office and noticed that there were tactile sculptures all around him, pointing out that they were made by himself.
I want a real artist to tell me that my face will be interesting.
He looked at my paperwork and asked me a few basic questions.
I explained to him that I don't know what I want but I know I want to look fresher.
I showed Dr. Kassir a picture of me in my 20 s, compared to my current self.
He told me that due to gravity, my face volume decreased and decreased.
Basically I 've lost fat and bones over the years, my skin is loose and my elasticity is less (
Black may not crack but will sink).
I always think my face is getting thinner and thinner.
I don't like the emptiness in my eyes (
I thought it was because of weight loss).
He basically told me that he would recommend 3 out of 4 (
Relax, restore, re-shop, re-shop).
Relax with Botox/Dysport, restore the volume with filler, and re-surface with non-ablation and ablation laser.
Wow, it sounds serious.
It sounds like a lifetime commitment to me, but don't worry.
Kassir explained that in 35-
55 is the critical time for injection.
He says he has been injecting patients for 18 years, and those who started the injection earlier look much better than those who did not.
Dr. Kassir always tells the patient "you will always look better than the twin sister you didn't do that.
"I'm 24 years old and this is a chart of some beauty enhancement programs
Kassir recommends that at each age: 20 years old: lip filling, some Botox 30 years old: lip filling, Botox 40 years old: filling, Botox, 50-year-old skin according to the New York Post, Botox in the first half of 2013 in the United States is expected to sell between 1 pound.
94 billion and 2 billion--up from 2012.
Botox is one of the most popular cosmetic surgeries in the United States, with some women starting in their early 20 s.
While it's definitely super popular and obviously super successful, I don't think wrinkles and frowns are really my problem.
I am on 44 cosmetic fillers made of hyaluronic acid and intend to fill lines and creases on my face (
Like the emptiness in my eyes).
The filler can also be used to plump and lift the cheeks and fill the lips.
Well, this procedure did get my attention because hyaluronic acid is naturally present in the body, so it is almost impossible to have an allergic reaction to it. Dr.
Kassir also told me that he wanted to do 15 minutes of nose work on me (
This is basically a program that uses cosmetic fillers to outline and create shapes on the nose).
I think it might be interesting, although I don't feel like nose work is the fix I need, I'm always eager to improve on beauty.
Do 15 minutes of nose work in the office using cosmetic filler, no downtime required.
The question is, will my husband notice me coming home with a new nose? After about a year, what would he say when his nose disappeared?
When I left the office, I felt told that it was a bit exaggerated and definitely needed an overhaul.
I drank a few glasses of wine and went home to bake my husband, "baby, do you think I'm pretty, am I getting old, am I still attractive to you?
"Basically, what good husband does he say (and Billy Joel)
I will say: I like how you are now.
