How to make your own waterproof dryer lint on fire
Appetizers are provided free of charge.
Use only household items and you can make 1 oz waterproof fire
Start burning for 15 minutes.
Perfect for camping, backpacking, and even fire pits in the backyard.
No need to buy fancyfire starterlogs, here you need to collect a fewhousehold item that will otherwise be thrown into the trash can.
First, collect some materials from around the house. 1. Dryer lint2.
An empty egg
Old candle stub (
Or in my case, a box of canned wax-$3*)4. Dental floss5. Scissors6.
New Belgian beer (
No, but hey, that's how it happened)
* Whether it's using old candle stubs or canned wax strips, they can be bought at a local hardware store and cut into small strips/blocks so they can melt more easily.
Bring your dryer lint and fill each compartment.
Because it will extend the burn time, there is a fair amount of stuff for everything.
Cut each compartment with scissors and fold the ends of each compartment together.
Using dental floss (
Or any one-off rope)Tie each fire up
A starter of a few inches extra length is allowed.
Put your wax block in a disposable glass jar (
Or empty aluminum cans)
Then put it in a boiling pan.
Keep the water level low enough so that the jar or jar does not turn over.
Once the water is boiling, you should completely melt the wax in a few minutes.
Turn off your burner and you can lower the fire now
Use the length of the floss to place the appetizer in a jar or a melted wax can.
Make sure the fire-
The starter is completely submerged before the bubble stops rising to the surface. Note -
It may be helpful to use additional appliances to push them below the wax line.
Sprinkle the rest of the wax on the firestarters.
This will help make sure it is waterproof. Let the fire-
Completely dry appetizer.
To prevent cleaning up the mess, I put them on paper towels.
After about an hour or two, they should be rock solid.
Now they have your fire done.
The appetizers are ready.
Light up a corner and enjoy the glory.
My first test had 15 minutes of burning time.
I am a long time fan of this site and this is my first post. .
The goal here is to place items that would have been buried around the house and turn them into useful things. Hope you enjoy.
