
Today, John Lewis has launched a smart wardrobe that automatically cleans clothes and a robotic chef as a home appliance for the future.
These design ideas are the finalists of the Electrolux Design Lab competition, which aims to learn about life in 2050.
Starting today, visitors to the John Lewis Oxford Street store will be able to see the designs, and the winners will be unveiled at 100% Design on September 23.
Vic Sinclair, the buyer of John Lewis's large appliances, said: "Electrolux chose to preview the finalists at John Lewis's flagship store, and we are very happy.
In the past 40 years, the progress of household appliances has been remarkable, and it is fascinating to see the future and imagine what these machines will do in the next 40 years.
"The design concept of the display includes the use of clean clothing with molecular water-free cleaning;
Bio-robot refrigerator that can be cooled without motor, door or drawer;
The dismounted laundry officer who refreshed and revitalized the clothes on the wall;
Modular kitchen with components including wireless wall mounted appliances and lighting equipment;
Eco cleaner, portable dishwasher and composter, kitchen hideout, virtual reality kitchen where robots prepare food and snailin for you, a portable heating and cooking based on induction process
