The air in some of the world's most populous cities is filled with smoke and harmful pollutants, which is no longer a secret.
Now a team of Dutch designers has come up with an innovative solution to clean up our skies
And create jewelry in the process.
The smog-free tower is designed to be "the world's largest purifier" and create a "smoke cube" from every 1,000 m³ of the air it cleans ".
According to the Creators Project, video designers at Rotterdam's Roosegaarde Studios are raising money on Kickstarter to make their towers a reality and possibly start construction next month.
Plan to build a large air purifier and take it around the world to create "bubbles" of clean air ".
The machine will collect smoke, which will be compressed into cubes for the production of quirky jewelry.
Each cube will be made of 35,315 cubic feet (1,000) of poor quality air and smoke collected by the ring, for example, there will be a clear acrylic cube fixed on them, there is a black smoke cube floating inside.
Daan Roosegaarde, who led the project, wrote on Kickstarter: "The smog-free Tower is the first step in the smog-free movement: Our dream is that people work together to stop the clean future of pollution.
"We believe that the Smog Free Tower provides a unique opportunity for people to learn about air pollution through a direct experience.
"The clean air foam generated by the smog-free Tower will be a place for people to come together and work together, and let's think about how to release the Smog City.
The idea of the tower began with a smog tour in Beijing three years ago.
An interior prototype has been developed since then, and the team is ready to build a real working version that will first play its magic in Rotterdam.
If enough money is raised, the tower will travel around the world, from cities to cities, from Beijing to Paris, Los Angeles to Mexico City.
The building is 23 feet (7 m) high and uses patented technology to filter the surrounding air.
The ion filter will charge and remove the smoke particles and blow out fresh air from the vent on the side of the tower.
This will create a high
The team estimates that the pressure zone can produce a bubble that lasts 75% less smog than elsewhere.
"We are basically making the world's largest air purifiers," she said.
"The technology is already in use in hospitals.
It's safe and tested and we just built the biggest one out there.
The team believes that in areas affected by severe air pollution, the smog-free Tower will harvest enough smog to produce more than 3,500 "smog-free cabins" every day ".
It is planned to produce a total of 1 million of these cubes.
Supporters can advance
Order a haze-free cube of 50 euros ($35 or $55) on Kickstarter, or order a haze-free ring or cuff for 250 euros ($177 and $276), estimated for shipment in December.
Roosegaarde told the Daily Mail: "I always try to make life better.
"I want to show people that they can be part of the solution.
"Rings may not be the solution, but they can bridge the gap between where we are now and where we need to go.
