Moderator Rachel Cherry: Chris, I hope you forgive me if I try to stay away from defining the distance between breath and sexy.
Chris Hayes, MSNBC contributor: I 'd be happy to forgive you.
I am good at all the other short people. (LAUGHTER)
Hayes: well done, well done.
Thank you, Chris.
I'll see you later. HAYES: Thanks.
MADDOW: Thank you for staying with us for an hour at home.
No matter whether the political campaign has a natural life span or not, there is no natural life span on the campaign site.
The campaign site is not just dead on its own.
If you want them to die, you have to kill them publicly, and someone forgot to kill the president's website of Tim Borenstein.
After winning a third place in the Ames poll in Iowa this weekend, former Minnesota governor Tim Borenstein withdrew from the presidential race.
He resigned when he appeared on ABC's Sunday morning show this week.
"But if any of the 0. 3 billion Americans don't watch the show any day of the week, Miss the announcement, and still have an interest in Tim Borenstein, and went to Tim pollen and you won't know Mr from the website today.
Pornetti pulled out of the game.
What is this.
Com looks like now.
The big slogan of Pawlenty 2012 and "Tomorrow starts today. ” (

Our morning in America, our new beginning, our way tomorrow, starting today.
Right here, right now. (END VIDEO CLIP)
Starting today tomorrow.
Technically, Governor Pawlenty's tomorrow is over.
Today is even over yesterday, but someone may have forgotten to inform the webmaster as well as in Mr.
The name of pornetti.
Quote: "Congrats on behalf of Bachmann to win.
We need to make progress in our campaign, and we do.
I am very eager for the Future campaign.
Then he resigned.
At the end of the day, there will be no campaign for Tim Borenstein.
He quit the game.
But whether you think Tim Pawlenty is going to win the nomination or not, whether you think Pawlenty is going to win the presidential election, Tim polentti is out of the race because statistically it doesn't make sense.
First of all, Tim Borenstein initially said that if he achieved better results than sixth place in Ames, Iowa, he would think it was a win and he would continue
He ended up in third place, but he dropped out of school.
Secondly, his decision point here is the Ames poll in Iowa.
Based on the results of Ames's decision to continue the presidential campaign, the Iowa poll is a bit like building that decision on who will win the bingo game.
If you only play one bingo card and you play with someone else who just bought 50 bingo cards, then 50 bingo cards are more likely to win.
Yes, there are opportunities and tips-listen carefully.
But basically, in order to understand the probability of prediction here, you need a math knowledge of grade 1st.
This is how the Ames poll works.
Vote for money.
It costs $30 to vote.
Some candidates who really want to win Ames, Iowa polls buy votes for people and distribute them so that the people they distribute the votes vote.
According to Iowa polls, that's how you won the Ames prize.
You pay for it.
It is reported that Michelle bach, who won the poll this weekend, bought 6,000 tickets for $30.
Her campaign team bought the votes and then distributed them to people, a strategy that led to her getting 4,823 votes, which was first.
Iowa Republicans are also selling real estate in public opinion polls.
They sell real estate.
They sold the highest position in the polls.
Bid candidateThe highest-
In this year's poll, the candidate for real estate is Ron Paul, a Republican from Texas.
His campaign paid $31,000 for the best.
In the polls, this is the largest and most popular booth location-Ron Paul is associated with his willingness to spend this kind of money in Ames, ranking second in Ames.
He is 152 votes behind Michelle mann.
Now, does these votes represent the organic, statistically grass-roots support of Iowa Republicans for candidates Michelle bach man and Ron Paul? Maybe. Bingo.
But they may also just represent the fact that these two sports are good at winning such rackets.
This is a racket.
In fact, the refreshing point of the Ames poll in Iowa is that the people who make money from this scam, Iowa Republican, fully admit that this is just a racket designed to make them make money.
After the second time
After passing the Ames poll, in 1987, the Republican chief financial officer in Iowa said, citing, "the state party that has a fundraising stunt in the Iowa referendum will not be more than that.
The current chairman of the Iowa University Republican Federation said the poll was "mainly a fundraising campaign ".
"So, Republicans in Iowa acknowledge this and they have come up with ways to make money and make a lot of money for their state party, frankly, good for local communities in Ames, Iowa.
Whenever there is one of these gimmicks, the fundraiser will inject a lot of money into the local economy.
But according to the way the ring City Avenue media handled the Ames poll, you may guess that the Ames poll has predictive power.
Let's see how people pay in this. to-
Voting, manipulating fundraising events bingo games will tell you who will win the Iowa caucus and who will win the Iowa caucus will tell you who will win the presidential nomination.
This is a great storyline and it proves that many very exciting reports are correct, however, it does not happen to be true.
I mean, it happens every once in a while.
George W 1999
Bush won the Ames poll, the Iowa caucus, the Republican nomination.
But in addition to that, if you want to find out through a poll, the Republican Party last nominated Mitt Romney as president, and Phil Graham as president in 1995, when Pat Robertson was nominated as president, george H. W.
Bush, the year they nominated Reagan.
It should be noted that Bob Dole was tied to Phil Graham in a poll in 1995.
But when the Iowans voted again in the Iowa primary, Phil Gramm, who scored an awesome first place in the Iowa primary with 9% results.
Nate Silver of The New York Times analyzed today's figures in history and found that Iowa's performance actually has some predictive value for your performance throughout the nomination process if you are a Democrat
But it doesn't matter if you're a Republican-it means polls, it means the caucus, it means Iowa.
What is one of the reasons?
Well, while Democrats in Iowa seem a bit like other Democrats in the country, Republicans in Iowa don't seem to be at all like other Republicans in the country.
The Iowa preferences they state tell you what the Iowa preferences they state are.
They like people like Pat Robertson, Phil Graham and Michelle mann this year.
They also like those who pay for their votes and provide them with food and provide good entertainment in Ames to buy votes.
Don't tell the person who made the magazine cover or booked the Sunday show that.
But Iowa has little to do with Republican presidential politics.
We know who the Democratic candidate will be this year, the current president.
This year's race is about who the Republican nominee will be, and Iowa has little to do with the issue and the background.
It makes Tim Borenstein quit the presidential race because of his performance on this pointless and irrelevant thing both sad and makes you feel like he might
Pawlenty got what he deserved because he put his entire presidential campaign on what everyone knew in advance.
In any case, no matter why Pawlenty quit, other candidates will not let Tim Pawlenty forget to move around this year.
This year, in all presidential politics of Democrats and Republicans, it is important to do so. (

US President Barack Obama: in this country, we can't lose millions of jobs.
Construction workers lined up to find jobs.
In the end, employment will be created by the private sector.
We can make the economy recover again.
We promote economic development.

We must focus on economic development.
This creates a lot of jobs. (END VIDEO CLIP)
President Obama is today on the first day of his three terms.
Day bus tour-as you can see there, a bus tour that looks very much like his campaign, despite the White House's vow that he has no campaign.
President Obama is talking about one thing at every turning point, that is, the economic situation, which is actually the most predictable thing in almost any presidential election.
That's why personality, style, hype, and gimmicks are on the side, and that's why Rick Perry, Texas governor, is worthy of as much attention as possible in running for president.
Frankly, it should cover up the nonsense in Iowa.
While Democrats want Rick Perry to run for his Michelle mann

Governor jobs of the United States.
Rick Perry announced the campaign and called himself governor, his first campaign advertisement.
The biggest question in presidential politics is: Can Rick Perry call himself like this in a credible way?
Can his campaign be based on that?
Does he have economic information about the economy and job creation that resonates?
You may recall sacrificing a huge Bologna in this show to prove this, and I don't think Rick Perry's economic claims and employment claims are exposed in fact reviews.
But can his competitors call Bologna on the message?
If he goes far enough on the nomination, will the White House be able to call on Bologna for that?
On top of that, if we try to get out of the effects of the great recession, not just that we as a country are upset and worried about unemployment and the economy, but, we are also frustrated and worried about our future, we are also worried about what we can rely on in difficult times. we are sure that we will stick to it for a while.
The next presidential political question is: Rick Perry says Social Security and health insurance are not constitutional and must therefore be abolished, how much does that have to do with the Democrats?
Next is Howard Dean. (

MADDOW: remember how the Republicans developed the Paul Ryan budget issue? At that time, they all voted overwhelmingly to kill health insurance with Paul Ryan's budget.
Republicans can't wait to remind everyone that Rick Perry may have the same Paul Ryan problem in a very, very big way. That`s next. (

MADDOW: Texas Governor Rick Perry announced this weekend that he is doing what everyone thinks he is doing, that he is running for president, starting with the Republican nomination, rick Perry is not just tipto running around with his toes, it is no longer.
Now he's officially running for president.
By way of actual operation.
If you want to find the real start of Rick Perry's presidential campaign, you might want to look at his book big ideas, published in November 2010, right after the congressional elections.
This book is called "Fed Up!
Because not only is he tired of m-
Sprinting in front of the subtitle, he was not only tired, full stop, but also tired of space, he was fed, all the hats, all the hats, exclamation marks.
Now, speaking from Governor Perry's book about the 49 pages of the new deal, citing "some of these projects have dramatically changed the relationship between Americans and their government, any respect for the fundamental principles of our establishment of federalism and unity of government-sorry, limited government.
The best example so far, he says, is social security.
Social Security as a Molotov
Throw savages at candidates and violently overthrow the founding principles of our country.
At least before he officially became a presidential candidate, Rick Perry was frank about his views on programs such as social security and health insurance.
Last week, The Daily Beast dug up spending from last fall's "Newsweek" Interview with Rick Perry.
Before he ran for president, things that didn't look interesting enough for him to be interviewed for the first time, and that's how these things are going and the background is everything.
But in the new context of his campaign for president, he had to say, "I don't think our founding fathers, when they put the word" general welfare "there in the Constitution, he means, I don't think they're considering the federal government --
The operating procedure mentioned is not the federal government.
Operating Procedures for health care.
But they made it clear that these issues need to be addressed by the states, not by the federal government.
I know this very well.
Very well, on Rick Perry's land, so, we're doing this state --by-state.
You can distribute cat food and human food vouchers in Alabama.
Massachusetts, as long as you can afford it, you can continue to enjoy pensions, seniors, and universal health care, even though it used to be a national safety net.
Today, we get a tip that Rick Perry, who wants to live in the White House, has begun to realize that his thoughts on these things may not be so popular.
At the Iowa fair, Ben Smith, a reporter from Politico
Com asked Governor Perry that he was not old enough to insist that the federal government should abolish social security and health insurance so that states could take over them.
Any other solution he says is not constitutional.
This is his position in all his positions less than a year ago.
Capital letters with the title book.
But when asked about it today, suddenly, Governor Rick Perry doesn't sound like Rick Perry anymore. (

Perry: It's time to talk to the country about how we can find solutions for some sustainable projects, and I think it's one of those that makes the United States do that.
I'm not saying this is the only way. (END VIDEO CLIP)
Old Rick Perry wants to describe social security as a violent overthrow of the Constitution.
New Rick Perry, who is running for president, wants to talk about sustainability and many ideas, not just the exclamation points he asked for last year that no one was listening.
Governor Rick Perry, in his campaign, from his conversation about leaving the Union, brought some serious baggage to his doomsday religious allies.
But if Rick Perry does a good job, as many expect him to do in the Republican nomination process, and if Rick Perry is still here in a few months, you will know, if the contest was not about religious beliefs or social conservatism, the Democrats would beat him, but, Rick Perry believes that social security and health insurance are not constitutional and must be taken apart.
Now we are joined by Howard Dean, former governor of Vermont and former chairman of the Democratic National Committee.
Governor Dean, thank you very much for your time tonight.
Howard Dean, former chairman of the Democratic National Committee: Thank you Rachel.
Thank you for letting me play.
Governor Perry believes Social Security and health insurance are not constitutional.
In addition to what I quoted in the intro, he called them Ponzi scams.
This is-it sounds the same as the Republican debate in my opinion, and it's a gift for Democrats all year round.
Is that how you look?
Dean: it's going to be interesting-though it's interesting that you'll think it might appeal to the Tea Party, and the problem is he has some other questions.
For example, he talked about many jobs he has created in Texas since he became governor.
A lot of jobs have been created, but Texas has added three of the four jobs in the state workforce, and the state workforce has grown 18% under the leadership of so-called tea party candidate Rick Perry
It's really special.
Allow the states to do whatever they want, and it doesn't matter if the state wants to get rid of social security.
But in Texas, 22% of Texas kids don't have health insurance-22% of kids don't have health insurance, one of the worst children in the country.
So, you know, he has a lot to answer.
It's not just something he said he would get into trouble because of social security and health insurance, but most Tea Party people actually don't think it should be cut.
He has some fundamental questions about whether he really understands what the federal government should do.
MADDOW: I think back, though, Bill Clinton ran for president in his early 90 s, and the criticism from the right, okay, well, you look like an interesting person, an attractive young governor, who has a lot to offer in terms of the way he talks about the country.
But, look at Arkansas-where Arkansas is at the bottom of so many national metrics, there has never been a complaint like this about Bill Clinton as an attractive governor.
Complaints about Texas, whether it's the economy, the way of life or the way it's integrated into the country, would it really do any harm to Rick Perry?
I think it's OK.
I think if people-the worst thing you can do politically is be a hypocrite, and if you say the government and the government are too big, we don't like Social Security and health insurance, you will find that your labor force has grown by 18%, and when he was governor, the employment rate in the private sector in Texas has tripled, and as they said politically, there is a lot of explanation to be done.
So, I do think that work will be a big problem in this campaign.
If people think he creates jobs by expanding state Labor-by the way, they have a $9 billion deficit, which is bigger than four states in Texas.
So he has a lot to explain.
He has a management problem.
Most governors are not management issues, but it turns out that Texas is the weakest governor in the country, the deputy governor actually puts forward the budget for Texas, and Rick Perry has little impact on management.
He's not a real Texan.
The governor of Texas does not really manage Texas, which is the only state in the country that really manages Texas.
MADDOW: at least in the expert world, there are two ideas about Rick Perry's participation in the game.
One of them is that he poses the biggest potential threat to President Obama.
He offers a stark contrast and style that will appeal to Republican voters in a way that poses a real challenge to the White House.
Another school thinks he's Fred Thompson.
He looked excited because he didn't check it carefully.
There is no reason to believe that he seems to be the way to get the nomination.
Do you belong to these two schools of thought?
I think he can be a good candidate.
I think he is a good politician.
The last time he was running, before that, when he beat Bill White, he had terrible numbers and he still managed to be in four
Compete with 38% of the vote.
This time, he came back and defeated a Democratic candidate, the mayor of Houston, although that's right. wing year.
So, look, I 've said that, and I'll say that again, anyone who has been nominated within the party, I think he can be president.
So, I'm not going to write him off, but as they say, because of his inconsistency, because of his lack of real management experience, he has a lot of explanations to do, because of the size of the country's workforce and the number of jobs it occupies, the huge budget deficit in Texas has not been addressed.
Governor Dean: What do you think Democrats in the White House have done so far in terms of positioning the presidency and trying to reverse the campaign for those who are most important to the president's success?
DEAN: Well, it depends on what's going on in the debt deal, and everyone in the transaction has a time bomb.
For example, if we raise the age of Medicare to 67%, I think it would be better for Democrats to mail it in, because you know, you have to stand up for the core democracy program.
This should be fought on three things, this competition, employment is the biggest, then Social Security and health insurance.
We should win all this.
The leading Republican candidate did not really create any jobs except for Governor Perry's state government.
Michelle bach mankending has never created any job opportunities, and she has taken a lot of federal money in her husband and business.
Frankly, Mitt Romney, with his experience, could lead to more jobs losing the jobs he does at Bain Capital, not the jobs he gets.
It will depend on who the nominee is.
So what we win is work, health insurance and Social Security.
These are very important issues for the American people, and I think we have a great chance in this election.
We must stick to our position and support these projects.
You can't turn off the days of social security and health insurance and expect Democrats to rally around you.
Howard Dean, former governor of Vermont, former chairman of the Democratic National Committee, thank you very much for your time tonight.
It's always good to have you here.
Dean: Thank you for letting me play.
So it's simple to actually restart the economy.
Everyone agrees that all we need is a bad alien invasion, like an invasion from outer space. Sci-
Our last hope is probably the economy.
The evidence came out. (

The president started his three today-
A day trip with the Minnesota town hall event, followed by one in Iowa, and while these are technically not campaign events, you can hear him not only start speaking to the whole citizen, anything he makes as president is almost always an implicit audience.
You can hear that the president is also trying to get his most interested people involved in his campaign today.
You can hear him today at these town halls, not just the whole electorate who wants to see him reasonable, willing to speak, willing to be an adult in the room, and willing to compromise in Washington, which is often full of fanatics.
To be frank, you can also hear that he's starting to engage with Democrats-those who want to see the president fight Republicans, and he wants to see a Democratic president come forward, fight for his faith and win. Listen. (

Obama: The point is that something has happened in Washington, and we think that every day we reach this kind of compromise with our neighbors and with our colleagues in our own family.
The workers, and our friends, somehow this has become a dirty word that has to change.
This has to stop.
So we will choose the country instead of the political party.
If we are willing to do so and we will choose the next generation in our next election, then I have absolutely no doubt that we can get the economy back again, that we can get people back to work and that small businesses can start growing again.
But I need your help to make it happen.
You have to send a message to Washington that it's time for the game to stop.
It's time to put the country first.
But I want everyone here to understand that I am not here to enjoy the good weather, but to engage you in a battle.
We are fighting for the future of our country, a battle we will win.
This is my commitment with your help.
Thank you very much. (END VIDEO CLIP)
He said, we will win, we will win because I am going to fight, you are going to fight with me, compromise is also a dirty word.
It's very difficult to do both information at the same time, right?
Just as the Republican campaign slogan against you in the last election was hard to use, the national first, like the rally slogan against Republicans this year.
I don't think it's hard to do it because I mean it's wrong --
I mean, the president's campaign strategy seems to be trying to do something difficult, naming Republican hypocrisy as "hypocrisy", calling on them not to act according to the ideals they state.
In addition, Republicans are called on to stop taking action to help the economy while not trying to crack down on opposition parties.
What the president seems to be trying to do is hard to do.
Is the president calling allies to try to do this difficult thing?
The next one is Ed Lundell, the former governor of Pennsylvania. (

Okay, join me here.
It's a good political point, but we have to go through a bad movie, a good book and a very old TV show before we get there.
But believe me, this arc is perfect.
Well, on 2009, a film based on the graphic novel "The Watchman" was released.
This is a big action movie.
The film was directed by someone who directed the film 300-I'm not saying it's rude, but it's not a very good movie.
However, don't let this distract you from the fact that the book on which the film is based, The Watchman, is a very good book.
It is considered the first great complete
Length complex, dark, graphic fiction period-one of the first great graphic fiction periods.
The retreat of the "Watchman" is the nuclear threat of the Cold War era.
One of the main points that this book has completely changed in bad movies is that one of our heroes decided to convince everyone that Earth is being received from Aliens
His idea is that all the people on Earth will have to put aside all the stupid things we fought for and unite to deal with the threat of aliens.
The editor of the graphic novel talked about wanting to give up that plot point altogether, which is the end of the whole book.
The author of the outstanding Alan Moore's "Watchman" in 2005 told Entertainment Weekly that when he was writing "Watchman", he found the same idea of forging alien attacks, and did a great job in 1963 episodes of TV shows called "external restrictions. ” (

Unidentified male: Gentlemen, Monday's miss proximity is the fourth such event since the start of the hot nuclear era, as long as the nations on earth are armed with one another, we will definitely have more accidents like this.
In the end, we must prove ourselves fatal soon.
These countries must unite.
We must unite them.
Gentlemen, we can unite them. (END VIDEO CLIP)
MADDOW: their idea of making world forces is a fake alien attack.
In order for us to do the right thing on Earth, Earth people need the threat of fake alien attacks.
Comic League blog wrote about it today and noticed how Alan Moore solved the problem in the Watchman, the plot point was completed by 1963, the way Alan Moore bypassed it in the Watchman was that he put a hat tip in the book, and a random character happened to be watching a TV show, alan Moore said he did not steal from the TV show.
He is paying tribute to it.
However, my favorite idea is that fake aliens can make real humans do real things, and my favorite is not just the bad movie of 2009 or the great novel of 1996, or the idea of an "external restriction" event in 1963 my favorite point is that Ronald Reagan has been talking about it all the time.
All of this-as President, I think, he often comes up with the idea of a fake alien attacking the earth without knowing that he's some kind of cartoon character --y in doing it. (

Former President of the United States Ronald Reagan: when you stop and think that we are all children of God, I can't help but in a private discussion with General Secretary Gobachev, we live anywhere in the world and I can't help but say to him-think about how easy it might be for this world to be threatened by other species from another planet if he and my mission were to be outside the universe.
We will forget all the tiny local differences between our nations, and we will find once and for all that we are all human beings.
Perhaps we need some universal external threats to recognize this common line.
I occasionally think that if we face foreign threats from the outside world, how quickly our differences around the world will disappear. (END VIDEO CLIP)

If we are afraid of alien invasion, then we will do the right thing. Noble Prize-
The award-winning economist and New York Times columnist Paul Kruger made arguments about economic policy this weekend.
Kruger believes that the United StatesS.
In order to avoid double employment, the government needs to spend some money to do something to hire employees.
In order for the economy to continue to grow, we must do so as soon as possible.
He said on CNN this weekend that if we were to get the government to do this, we would have to invent a fake alien invasion, frankly, in order to motivate us to do some economic stimulus, the use of fake aliens in the past is even worse. (

As far as President Obama is concerned, he is running
Today, tomorrow and Wednesday's style bus tour in the Midwest, talking about the topic everyone wants to talk about, that is, the economy.
So far, he has put forward two basic points, neither about aliens.
He thinks Republicans are trying to stop the economy, and he thinks that in order to make any economic progress, we have to do something openly as a government. (

At low interest rates, contractors are begging to work and construction workers are lining up to find a job and let's rebuild the United States.

We can get thousands of people to work now.
Congress now has a bill that will set up an infrastructure bank to attract private-sector funding, not just public funding.

Not from Mars, but from Mars?
Or is the real economic crisis that we are pushing for enough to actually get something done?
The second former governor of our show tonight, and the second chairman of the Democratic National Committee, Ed Rendel, once again joined us as a contributor to MSNBC.
Nice to meet you, Governor.
Thank you for coming.
Ed Rendel, former chairman of the Democratic National Committee: Rachel, I was very shocked to hear that.
There's something wrong with my mind.
You are very, very diplomatic now.
You remind me of someone who met an ugly child who said, Madam, this is a fairly small child. (LAUGHTER)
MADDOW: Let me ask you, though, about this general idea, we need some sort of sense of political extremism, environmental extremism in order to defend the job creation by doing something now
Do you think this is true?
I don't know.
Rachel, the reason I'm not doing this is that I think the American people are very much looking to cross the boundaries of most ideologies.
They want to see common sense of increasing American jobs.
This will bring people back to work.
This will bring investment to our economy.
I don't think it's an extension.
I don't think we need outside aliens to attack us to inspire us.
I feel self.
Here they just want to see a common sense approach and a way that might work.
MADDOW: I think you're right, and what we hear about the infrastructure that the president is talking about is very popular, and the polls prove that.
RENDELL: no problem.
Even Republicans like to talk about infrastructure in a popular way.
But do you think the president and congressional Democrats have plans to turn the popularity of these things into political viability?
RENDELL: Well, the infrastructure bank is a good idea, and the president deserves credit, and he is funding it at a level of $30 billion.
This is important.
However, it takes time to set up and play. It`s important.
And, you know, just last Monday, Building America's Future Echoes what you 've been saying for a long time-saying that we have to invest in our infrastructure for a long time, 10-
Like other developed countries, the annual plan is to do big things and keep our infrastructure in good shape for future generations.
But that being said, we can take advantage of the infrastructure and do something to get people to work over the next four months.
If we pass this bill in October 1, we can get people to work when they start the construction season on roads and bridges.
In this country, we have 70,000 bridges with structural defects, and state and local governments do not have enough money to build all of them, or half of them, or a quarter.
We can do that, the president, all he has to do is join him when the 50 governors of Philadelphia meet him in December 1, 2008, and that's to lose it-or use it, either lose it.
This means that you give the United States a certain amount of time to do the work.
If they are not working, the money will be taken away and handed over to the state that is working.
So, we have to use the infrastructure in the short term.
Long term and long termterm impact.
There are other things we can do --
Rachel, so is the semester impact.
There are many good ideas outside.
MADDOW: what you think the president is doing on this bus trip, for example, asking people to put pressure on Congress, and I'm trying to get you involved in the fight, he said-that's the kind of thing you said the bill was going to pass.
Does this really put pressure on Republicans to pass similar bills, especially in the house?
RENDELL: I think it can help, but it won't do that by itself.
I think the project has to speak for itself and have some common sense that doesn't need to spend a lot of money.
Let me give you another idea, USA and VISTA.
My school graduates have seven applications per location.
With less than $1 billion, we can create 60,000 jobs for high school students.
That's the people who need to work the most, just fill those gaps-and by the way, the American investment in children has done great things in our community.
At FHA, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, we have 300,000 foreclosure homes belonging to these three institutions.
They sat there waiting for someone to buy it.
This will not happen in this market.
Let's fix them, spend money to fix them, it will make a lot of construction workers work, rent them to the family and use the rental income to offset the cost of repairing them.
You know, the most successful part of the stimulus plan is, of course, cash for old cars.
But there is also a big discount on buying energy-saving appliances and making weather forecasts for your house.
Sold out.
Let's put it back in place now and in October 1 it will create a lot of new activities and a lot of new jobs and do some good for the country.
So, there are a lot of good ideas, and if he says it out and shows the price tag, people will look up and say, do you mean we can create decent jobs for "x? Let`s do it.
I think that momentum-the Republicans will have an option, Rachel, to do that, to get the country moving forward again, or to explain why not?
I think it's hard to explain why the jobs bill is harder than debt restrictions and deficit cuts.
MADDOW: I'll tell you, the more people I talk to about what's economically viable right now, the more people seem to focus on what you say talking about very, very specific projects here, which makes it harder for them to refuse.
RENDELL: I mean, think about it-60,000 high school students, the biggest unemployed in our country, did a good job for the country.
Mr. Chairman, former governor of Pennsylvania, former chairman of the Democratic National Committee, and contributor to MSNBC Ed lender once again thanked us for joining us tonight. Appreciate it.

MADDOW: now that Tim Pawlenty has withdrawn from the Republican primary, other candidates will inevitably begin the process of seeking his support.
That's what these things are.
Even if the endorsement doesn't affect your campaign, you want to stop others and girls from getting it.
So it's not surprising that Governor Rick Perry, the latest campaign person, reportedly called the former Minnesota governor a private call yesterday morning, call him in person-although we may never look in awe at the great T-
Paw endorsement in 2012.
But you never know.
Until Tim Borenstein's campaign is clearly not going to work, it is widely expected that he will be the top candidate this year.
He also let everyone know that he ran very early in the process.
He arranged the campaign ahead of time.
In the early days of these high hopes, Tim Borenstein has attracted a high level of Republican professionals.
So now, now that there is no campaign for Tim pornetty, what will happen to those Tim pornetty employees?
What happens to the staff who are really political loot of what the Republican campaign might mean?
We have to see.
I mean, if you were a top pawnshop clerk and your guys quit, where would you go now?
Who do you want to sign up?
Tim Borenstein's top staff in the first national primary state in New Hampshire have decided to sign up with Jon Huntsman.
I vaguely think that an easy way to think about Republican contenders now is to think from the perspective of the last Republican ticket, which competes with Sarah Palin style, very open religious social issues, populist conservative Republicans.
There is competition among different groups of Republican candidates to become more John McCain-style candidates.
It's not super religious, it's not very populist, it's not the focus of social issues, the Republican candidate for authority.
Of course, the competition for who wants to be Sarah Palin is still fierce.
This is Rick Santorum, Herman Kane, Michelle Buckman and Rick Perry.
The more conservative McCain side, if you want, is Mitt Romney, Jon Huntsman, and Tim Borenstein.
But now, Tim Borenstein is gone, it's a two-
Mitt Romney and Jon Huntsman compete for Republican competition.
So even Romney is the most important thing.
The runner is definitely the favorite and this is your wildcard problem. Are you ready?
This is-Michelle bach man won the Ames poll over the weekend and it's worth it.
Who is second?
Republican Congressman Ron Paul is not suitable for any Republican, which makes him an interesting part of any of the games he plays in.
After Ron Paul's very strong campaign in 2008, many elements of Ron Paul's political message were co-ordinated
The other Republican candidates have chosen for the past four years.

Liberal speech is also a very large government on abortion.
Many other candidates have now chosen Ron Paul.
Ism on issues like this.
But in addition to his dedicated Ron Paul cheering, Ron Paul got cheering this year and he seems to be in touch on that, so far this year, public events like debate are part of the message he brought the army home.
To get the army home, end the war now, isolationism has always been part of his message.
Jon Huntsman, who picked a top pawnshop employee from New Hampshire, is the only Republican candidate other than Ron Paul who is trying to make the most of the war, trying to make the public tired of the war, and hope to end the war in this year's political message. Who knows?
Maybe Jon Huntsman and he will leave soon too, leaving the side of the nomination battle to Mitt Romney.
However, if Huntsman does not leave soon, pay attention to the war and explicitly bring his troops home to become his political wildcard. (

MADDOW: the best new thing in the world today is what I found on a website that best proves the existence of the entire Internet, boingboing.
Net, the base camp of Xeni Jardin and Cory Doctorow, and frankly, on any day, the most interesting time I spend online is at least 15 minutes.
Boingboing recently released the story of the new German Rock FestivalNazis.
About 600 white supremacist skinheads have been shown to rock like radical and burning hatred.
The Top 250 skinheads who attended the racist concert were given free t-shirt.
