senior moments - oral irrigator
Temporary mental error in advanced moments (
Humorously attributed to the gradual loss of a person's mental ability as he grows older).
This is an interesting one: this lazy old geek (L. O. G. )has had them.
Here are some tips and tricks I use to help reduce these issues.
It would be helpful for me to have a fairly fixed routine for most of my time.
Because I am a geek, I have used a lot of technical gadgets as well.
I used a lot, too-My-
Face visual cues
I have a lot of self-tests to see how I am doing. Congrats! !
Research has shown that if you are worried about old age moments, then there are still a few years left for Alzheimer's: many of the guidance sheets I have marked are: almost irrelevant: If you want to be almost irrelevant, just skip it. I'll make dinner. And other food)
I do dentistry.
First of all, I use my "water tank" which is actually called an oral wash. See picture.
I used OralBreeze.
Its advantage is that there is no motor, there is no reservoir, there is only one moving part, that is, the bias.
How to use: turn on the hot water until it gets hot and add a little more cold.
Grab the wash, point to the sink, and flip the bias.
Irrigate the teeth, flip the bias and turn off the water.
Advanced instant test: The next time I use the sink, I can see if I remember to flip the off-track device.
You might notice that I have a sponge under the flush to help capture the spray. (
I have forgotten it a few times).
The least: Then I brush my teeth with my Sonicare.
One thing I like is that for the four quadrants it flashes every 30 seconds.
They recommend before, after, under and after.
I do top right, top left, bottom left, bottom right.
Advanced moment testing: Sonicare often stops before I finish.
I can say it's flawed, but I know I didn't pay attention and missed one of the highlights.
Advanced tip: Then I listed the tablets/vitamins for the day.
Yes, my bathroom sink is scary.
Yes, I know you shouldn't put the pills in the bathroom.
Okay, I put a sandwich bag (see picture)
My pills/vitamins
The chart shows how I can separate them.
I arrange them in a way that matches the chart (
It makes sense to me).
At one point, I did have an advanced moment where I can't remember which pill went.
Fortunately, I haveSenior Tip:)
List of medications/vitamins on my PC and how long I took them.
Mainly irrelevant: I took the current pill and then folded the sandwich bag together with the remaining two batches and put the rag on it. (
Protect them from the next dental operation. )
Next, I usually watch some TV and eat some snacks before going to bed, usually a face-to-face roast beef and cheese sandwich, plus some potato chips.
Then I will wash the dishes.
I don't have a dishwasher.
Then I will use my iHealth BP blood pressure and put my smartphone on my charger in my bedroom. And.
It's a bit hard to use, but it will automatically be stored on my smartphone.
Advanced moment test: Then I go back to the bathroom.
This is a visual test to see if I have tablets.
Yes, I sometimes forget that it is necessary to do so.
Repeat the tooth wash again and the sonicaresenio tip: OK, I try to take a shower every other night.
So I built a small monitor to tell me whether to take a shower at night: this is hanging in my bathroom and I can check it several times a day.
Advanced tip: so I can also see the shower tap if it's a shower night. See Pictures.
The problem is, I don't always remember in which direction the tap is turned on or off.
So I copied something from the Internet and printed it out.
Since there was no tile in my shower, I just took a clear packing tape and attached the indicator to the shower. (
If you have a tile, you may laminate it with tape on the front and back. )
The least: Next, I'll put on my wrist to monitor my sleep. See picture.
This is a suitable HR charge.
What I like is that it automatically decides when I sleep and get up.
Usually I look at a little bit of e-books on a tablet. See Picture.
Yes, I know I shouldn't have read in bed, but it doesn't seem to bother me.
Advantages of library e-books: make older eyes your favorite font size.
Because it is automatic, there is no need to return the book.
There is no blue option for the updated Amazon Kindle Fire.
Normally I wake up around 4 or 5a. m.
Take care of the business, take my. M. pills. (
Check again to see if I put the pills).
Least of all: eat my first Greek yogurt breakfast, eat a little Bran and make a dental and mouthwash.
Next, I am going for a walk with my dog, Marcus, my Fitbit is already on my pants and I start running on my smartphone. See pictures.
So you might ask why I'm using Fitbit One and Runkeeper.
Mainly because I'm a geek.
But my Fitbit One followed me in the footsteps of the day.
Runners are better at tracking the mileage of our walks.
We try to walk three miles and come back and I will stop running if I remember.
Advanced moment test: I'll look at my smartphone sometime during the day and maybe realize I forgot to stop running.
This is more of a situation than I like, but it's not a big deal.
Normally I will stop it and discard it because it is not relevant.
The least: eat my second breakfast, usually an egg omelet, bacon or sausage and a British muffin. (
I eat low carb)
I ate breakfast, watched TV, and counted alone in the newspaper.
Advanced tip: Most people think it's good for the elderly to do Sudoku and crossword games.
When I was young, I had no problems at all levels of Sudoku.
Sometimes I can't finish some intermediate and advanced ones.
Yes, grow old.
Usually, I take a nap and maybe surf the Internet.
Advanced tip: I like to use Google Calendar on my computer to track appointments and reminders for pills.
The best part for me is that it automatically syncs to my Android smartphone and computer.
In addition, you can edit events to remind you.
For medical apps, I usually remind the day before.
It will beep on my smartphone and computer.
Advanced tip: I also like Google to keep my shopping list.
It syncs again with my smartphone and computer.
You can enter data from either device.
I also follow up on the ebook series I'm reading.
Advanced tip: I still have a lot of spreadsheets with things I might need like my medication/vitamins.
Advanced tip: I also have a word document with my name, address and phone number on it.
I printed a few copies and put them in the house near where I might have called.
Fitbit dashboard summarizes some of my activities, steps, sleep, weight, BMI. See picture.
It collects data from my Fitbit One, Fitibit Charge HR and my Fitbit Aria scale.
Check the picture health dashboard to show my blood pressure and pulse trends. See picture. (
I thought this was only available on my smartphone, but I just found out that I can check it on my computer. )See picture.
Advanced tip: Having a partner helps reduce dementia.
Good humans, good animals.
Marcus has been my companion for years and has helped me through many life events.
Unfortunately, he is also getting old and 14 years old.
Our long walk is good for both of us.
Chat with neighbors occasionally.
Advanced tip: OK, I gave Marcus a few pills around noon and then peanut butter.
I used a little-my-
Facing the prank, it was a bit out of the way to put the peanut butter jar on my kitchen counter.
He also helped me get on track.
I always entertain him after lunch and dinner.
So, if I forget, I forget sometimes and he reminds me in front of me.
Advanced tip: Marcus is a good partner and he often knows when I'm in trouble.
The problem is he can't do anything about it.
Luckily, I live in my cousin's house and share a mailbox and a local newspaper.
So I see one of them almost every day and they can focus on me and vice versa.
OK, these are some of the advanced tips and tricks I use.
By the way, I found something written down. g.
Doing an Instructure can help me remember something.
I think something recorded uses a different path in the brain and then just does it.
Also, as long as I remember I wrote it, I can go back to this Instructure to refresh my memory.
Advanced tip: OK, I know one of the best ways to reduce dementia is to socialize.
But I don't do much.
