risk reduction behaviors regarding pm exposure among outdoor exercisers in the nanjing metropolitan area, china - top rated air purifiers
Objective: This study aims to describe the risk reduction behavior of ambient particulate matter with a diameter of 2. 5 µm or less (PM2. 5)
Among outdoor practitioners, explore potential factors that affect these behaviors.
Method: Cross
In May 2015, a segmented convenience sampling survey of 302 outdoor practitioners was conducted.
Descriptive analysis was used to describe demographics, patterns of outdoor sports activities, pm2 knowledge.
5. Reduce risk behavior.
Multiple logistic regression analysis was then used to explore the factors that affected the adoption of risk reduction behavior.
Results: reduce the most common behavior of pm2. 5.
5 exposure minimizes the time it takes to open a window on a hazy day (75. 5%)
The most unusual is the use of air purifiers (19. 3%).
2 out of 3 respondents said they wore masks while going out in the smog (59. 5%), but only 13.
6% of people wear professional smog masks.
Participants who took risk reduction actions against PM2.
5 exposure tends to female, 50-60 years old-
Elderly people with high knowledge level of pm2.
People with children.
Conclusion: these findings indicate the importance of improving knowledge of pm2.
Among the outdoor practitioners.
Educational interventions should also be taken to guide the public to take appropriate preventive measures when conducting outdoor sports in high pm2. 5 environments.
Five contaminated areas.
