From acting and making to dancing in the heart of a television audience, Ricki Lake is a celebrity cultural icon who has built her career with elegant, candid emotions and true, credible nature.
I interviewed a lot of fashionistas, Ricki is a real girl, she is a real girl, she is a core figure.
She found true love, launched the birth and childbirth campaign, and this fall, she returned to host the talk show for the first time since 2005.
Her new show Ricki Lake show is for women like me who grew up with her ---
And will cover both divorce and re-
Marriage, raising adolescents, dealing with fertility issues, aging and career changes;
Oh, stay away from all this.
Before the next wave of successful takeover, Ricki and I shared some of the hot topics of the trip and missed it as she headed towards the well --
Should be, overdue leave
Stacie Krajchir: What is the best hotel you have stayed in?
Riki Lake: San Miguel hasidana chamena, Ibiza, Spain.
This is the hotel I stayed at when I got engaged.
It's magical, far away, out of the way.
The view is spectacular.
We had a private room with our own pool and the service was great--
This is a special place I have been trying to find, a boutique hotel that is rough diamonds.
What is your favorite holiday?
My favorite holiday is in Spain. we went to Barcelona first and then to Ibiza.
We came to a whirlpool called Es Vedra, which is amazing, there are only three swirls in the world, it has this buzz and energy that you can feel and hear.
The people there are lovely and it reminds me of a more friendly Paris.
Where do you want to visit?
I have never been to Thailand and Tibet, all over Asia.
What do you always come?
A cashmere blanket, a bunch of colors because it makes me feel like home.
I have matching eyes
Mask, this is great for the plane.
My electric toothbrush is a must.
Recently I want to take my man everywhere and I like to travel with him.
If he is not there, I feel that part of me is gone.
SK: The best meal you still dream?
RL: I had some great meals but as a family we would go on a holiday at the Four Seasons Buffet which is always very special and always memorable for some reason.
What are you obsessed with now?
RL: Camera Plus app on my iPhone, I like to mess up the photos.
My recent obsession is Pinterest!
SK: are you connected to a particular charity or cause through your trip?
RL: My child went to Malawi with my nanny, at The Blue Flower jac School, a school she founded (
My nanny is a CNN Hero who is feeding and educating more than 400 orphans in her village.
I donated all my star dance income to the school;
It will build a boarding school for the most risky children.
I am very happy to be one of them.
I am also a global supporter of maternal health, and every mother is important and I want to raise awareness about this issue.
SK: What would it be if you could only keep a snapshot of the trip from your life?
RL: A friend of mine took a picture of me hugging my fiancé when she got engaged, this picture was taken on Las Salinas beach on Ibiza and I will never forget
Worst travel experience?
RL: It's a "luxury" bike/camping trip in Yellowstone but it's not what I like.
The next day should be a special day because as soon as my girlfriend and I realized it was a special day, we were arranged to take a shower and we immediately left the venue, stayed at the Amihai resort in Jackson Hole and it was much better!
I drew the line when I was camping;
I just don't like to store my stuff in the bear box.
Biggest packing error?
Oh, I always pack up.
Not long ago, I was addicted to a very impractical suitcase, it was luggage in hell, everything spilled when you opened it, but it looked cool.
I always wanted it and finally bought it and used it on my trip to New York and when I wanted to get something out of it everything broke out and I had to re-Pack everything.
The suitcase is no longer with me!
What is your biggest travel suggestion?
Be a good Packers
Learn how to roll things up.
If necessary, I can be the smallest packager to pack everything I need for eight days into a carry-on.
Oh, another suggestion is to follow the instructions during security check.
I have made a mistake to avoid an x-
TSA's machine caused my whole family to be searched. I won't make that mistake again. they definitely didn't find it funny.
What is the worst hotel you have ever stayed in?
My worst hotel experience is actually a very famous hotel in Los Angeles.
We came back from dinner and the whole hotel room was occupied by ants.
They were in my toothbrush, so disgusting.
We checked out right away and as much as I liked it, I never stayed there again ---
I just can't overcome it!
You're in there now. . .
What is your favorite local food?
I'm in Los Angeles now.
I love the Brentwood restaurant, a great local restaurant near my house, it was dark and my first game was great. Date there!
One of our favorite breakfast locations is the cozy harbor in Santa Monica, a bit shabby but really good.
My kids love sugar fish sushi and it has always been our staple food.
The Hollywood Bowl is one of my favorite things about Los Angeles;
I can listen to anything and am fascinated by this experience.
I love hiking in Santa Monica Mountains and Malibu and driving to the coast.
SK: if you could only pick a magazine from an airport kiosk, what magazine would you pick?
RL: I usually get a broken dress every week.
This is my sin on the plane.
I am the kind of person who wants to know how this person has lost weight and read all the articles about other people's problems and personal life.
