redundancies at braun factory - electrical appliance suppliers

Electrical appliance maker Braun has announced layoffs at their Carlow plant.
For the first time, the city company in the company's history is dealing-
Permanent staff.
The company initially wanted 45 people to leave for six months, but after discussions with the union, the number of layoffs has been reduced to 37.
The factory used to be the largest factory in Ireland and now employs more than 850 people.
The company said the layoffs were due to a glut in the market.
