British Appliance Pioneer Dyson will move its headquarters to Singapore this year because of strong demand in Asia, but not Britain's exit from the EU, the company said.
The group, founded and owned by successive entrepreneurs and UK-backed Brexit supporter James Dyson, announced production last year.
The company stressed that Britain's exit from the EU was not a factor in its decision to abandon its company base in Malmsbury, Wiltshire, in the west of the UK, but to support Singapore.
At the same time, there is growing concern about the impact of Brexit on UK businesses and investments, such as Hitachi's recent withdrawal from aDyson, known for its cordless vacuum cleaners, clothes dryers and fans, which now targets electric vehicles.
Especially in Asia.
"There are more and more customers in Dyson, and all our manufacturing businesses are in Asia;
The shift has taken place for some time and will accelerate as Dyson brings electric vehicles to market, "the company said in a earnings statement.
"As a result, Dyson's executive team will increasingly be based in Singapore;
Position them to make the right decision for Dyson in a fast and effective way.
"It will not change our investment and recruitment plans;
However, we are now at the moment when Dyson's headquarters will move there to reflect the growing importance of Asia to Dyson's business.
A prototype of Dyson electric is being produced in 2020, followed by a product launched in 2021.
Chief executive Jim Rowan told reporters in a conference call that Singapore's move was "not related to Britain's exit from the EU" and noted that there were only "negligible" tax incentives.
"We don't think there is any problem with Brexit," he said . " He added that Dyson's manufacturing capacity and most of the supply bases are in Southeast Asia.
"We are a global technology company," Luo insisted . " We will continue to invest in the UK market, he added.
Dyson has announced in last October that it has chosen Singapore as its first electric vehicle plant, sparking criticism in some ways that it is Brexit
The founder of the billionaire has not invested much in the UK.
But the group also said in the March that it would open a second R & D center at the former Royal Air Force airport in Hullavington, southwest England.
Meanwhile, Dyson said on Tuesday that 2018 of potential profits jumped 1 out of 3 to 1. 1 billion($2 billion).
Turnover or sales rose 28% to 4. 4 billion ($8 billion)
Global demand for spending cuts is growingEdge technology.
"On a global scale, enthusiastic owners are demanding
We are therefore deepening operations and technology investments to meet their needs, "added Rowan.
JamesDyson owns a 100 stake in the company he founded at 1970, and he completely changed household appliances with his bag-free vacuum cleaner, fan-free and air purifier.
