Periodontal disease is a disease that affects the gums, and the incidence of diabetic patients is three to four times higher compared to the normal population, according to global statistics, experts believe this is the sixth major complex problem of the group.
"The public not only lacks knowledge about how diabetes causes major oral problems, but also the overall knowledge of gum care.
"It comes down to the technique of brushing your teeth.
Brushing your teeth with oscillating motion is the best way to brush your teeth and reduce gum damage, not to brush your teeth upand-down motion.

Dental care also includes gum massage, which many people do not know.
Dr. Mala explained that the exercise can be done while taking a shower so that one can massage the gums with a finger using chewing gum toothpaste for a circular motion.
She believes that the disease is interrelated, and the first step in fighting other potential diseases is to start with healthy teeth and gums.
Symptoms of periodontal disease include bleeding from the gums, back of the gum line, poor tone and tooth shedding.
As a result of this situation, patients are at risk of swallowing infected saliva containing pus and blood, which may lead to other health problems.
She reminded diabetic patients that their diabetes will improve once their oral health is checked, as poor gum health can cause blood to be difficult to controlsugar levels.

"I ignored my oral health so that my teeth were shaking and I needed to pull teeth.
