Although it took them a morning to cheer each other, they are now competitors competing for the first place in the cross-party youth Solar Sprint model competition.
The goal of the project is to teach children the power of alternative energy and how to use it as a substitute for traditional oilbased fuels.
"Middle school students absorb these things like sponges.
Joseph Caravella, environmental project manager at TransOptions, said he focused on reducing traffic congestion and improving air quality.
Under the cloudless sky, the sun-drenched parking lot in front of JCP & L provides the perfect place for children to put theory into practice.
Creativity is enriched by craftsmanship and imagination.
These cars are made of different materials, stick together.
Michael kauhao, a 7-year student from Thomas Jefferson Middle School in Rocca, said his team first started designing sliced pizzas on Halloween.
"We made some prototypes and kept improving," Kohaut said . ".
Many students continue to improve throughout the day, patching empty soda tanks (required payload) and solar panels in the hope of making their vehicles a little faster.
In the next few days, the game will take place in Essex, passesussex, United and Warren.
The winner of each person will compete in international competitions
The County event scheduled for June 2 will also be held in JCP & L.

Caravella, who has been in contact with schools throughout the year, said he hopes these activities will encourage students to work on engineering and turn alternative fuel sources into an identifiable and ideal option.

"It shows that there is still a long way to go for solar energy, but it may be really cool," Quaglia said . ".
"If such a small panel can power the car, it shows that all of us have a future of engineering.
