israel indicts french immigrants in €9.1 million scam - home appliance manufacturer

Israeli state prosecutors sued four new immigrants from France on Wednesday for allegedly manipulating major international scams, posing as company executives and costing five European companies about nine euros.

According to the indictment, the loss-making companies include Media Markt, a German electronics retailer, Eldi, a Belgian electronics company, Cora, a European supermarket chain, the multinational perfume chain of Paris XL and Intergamma, a Dutch hardware store chain.
About 24 other companies have also been involved in the case, including candy maker Mars, senior fashion company Chanel, Italian sportswear retailer Diadora, and beer brewing giant Anheuser-
Busch and auto makers Kia Motors and Toyota, but not all companies are reported to be fooled.
