The FDA issued a warning today that brushing electric toothbrushes with arms and hammers can pose a risk of suffocation, especially for children.
"The report shows that when opened, the brush head" pops up "or breaks near the user's mouth or face, causing the mouth and gums to be cut, and the FDA says:" The teeth fall off or break, swallow and suffocate on the debris and hurt the face and eyes. ".
Church & Dwight, the company that makes arm and hammer toothbrushes, issued a safety notice encouraging users to check if the brush head has loose parts and replace them after three months.

It was not until 2009 that the toothbrush was sold as a crest brush.
