is your home sick? - best whole house air purifier
We tend to think that the big and bad world outside is where the unhealthy air is.
But for the main source of air pollution in your life, you need to be closer to home.
In fact, this is your home.
In ordinary households, organic pollutants are two to five times higher than outdoors, sometimes even much higher, the EPA said.
We're talking about volatile organic compounds. VOCs)here --which off-
Household cleaners, pesticides, dry gas-
Cleaning, paint, fireplace, stove, cabinet, furniture, paneling, upholstery, mattress and carpet.
Let us also not forget the biological contaminants that naturally exist: bacteria, viruses, molds, fungi, pollen, animal dandruff, mites, moths, and other insects and pests.
Gives a new meaning to the word "homesick", isn't it?
But the bad news is good: you can take fairly simple steps to clean up the air at home.
We have talked about increasing ventilation and choosing
Toxic biodegradable cleaning products, organic mattresses and Teflon-
Free cooker, no chemicals will be added to the air at home.
Biological contaminants can be reduced by controlling humidity and preventing accumulated water or wet surfaces in the home.
Another good way to clean up the air at home is nature's own air purifier ---
Plants are more famous!
They reduce dust and contaminants so we don't have to breathe them.
A few years ago, NASA did a study to find out which plants are best suited to filter the air from the space station, and they reported that plants are indeed able to remove some pollutants from the air.
A talk at TED 2009 explains how to "plant" fresh air indoors.
Plants have been placed and tested for 15 years at Paharpur Business Center and software technology incubator park in New Delhi, India.
The study showed that in just 10 hours, people in buildings were 42% more likely to increase blood oxygen by 1%. -
This has also led to a 20% increase in workers' productivity.
Recently, the University of Technology Sydney, Australia found that indoor potted plants usually reduce VOCs by 50% to 70 perent and can clean indoor air.
Air conditioning and non-air conditioning-
Condition environment.
Margaret Berchet, the study's chief Professor, estimates that there are six or more plants in a house of 1,200 to 1,500 square feet that can produce an abnormal decrease in contaminants.
In another study at Washington State University, dust decreased by 20% when factories were placed around computer labs and small offices for a week.
What are you thinking about? Good --
Let's literally green!
Will the old house factory work?
Well, at least to some extent.
Whenever you bring the plant into the picture, it increases the oxygen content and filters the air-
But some are better than others.
In the study in New Delhi, the following three plants were found to be powerful manufacturers of clean air: Areca Palm (
Living room plants)
: Produce oxygen in one day time, should be outdoors every 3 days4 months. • Mother-in-Law's Tongue (
Bedroom plants)
: Convert carbon dioxide into oxygen, especially at night. • Money Plant (
Professional factory)
: Removal of formaldehyde and other volatile organic chemicals (VOCs)from the air.
The University of Technology identified the following plant varieties:Petite)
White potato (Sensation)
Dragon Blood Tree (Janet Craig)• Pothos (Devil's Ivy)
Chantia is in Queensland.
Umbrella tree (Zanzibar)
• Modstum (Silver Queen)
The study, funded by the University of Georgia Agricultural Experimental Station, found that the other five plants had efficient pollutant removal effects: asparagus density (asparagus fern)
Ivy (English ivy)
Semi-Lotus (
Purple Waffle
• Hoakoosa (
Miscellaneous wax plants)
• Parida (
Purple Heart plant)
Don't forget that the whole concept is based on the ability of the plant to breathe.
You need to wipe them gently with a damp cloth on a regular basis to keep their soil and root area clean as most of the air
Scrub there.
