Irish firm cutting costs for hospitals across the world - cheap air purifiers for the home
A Dublin air-
Sensor is helping American health care companies get through the air-Quality Sensor.
Products provided by NuWave Sensors to detect pathogens and allergens in the air are particularly popular in American hospitals that want to monitor indoor air quality.
The company has also recently introduced Cair sensors to track particles and humidity that may cause allergic reactions.
Headquartered in Glasgow, NuWave sensors has been operating for nearly three years and employs 12 employees in Dublin.
Chief Technology Officer Stephen Daniels says most of their sales are in the US and continental Europe.
"We sell products around the world, but the US is a huge market for us, and so is the continent," he told the Irish Independent . ".
"We sell NuWave and Cair sensors there, but industry is our biggest customer, especially in the US.
"Air sensors organize information and send it to customers through free cloud --based account.
Daniels added that data tracked by sensors may encourage hospital management to reduce the use of air purifiers and reduce energy consumption when necessary.
"There are many hospitals in the United States that need to clean the air in the ward.
It's a huge cost, "he said.
At the same time, the company's home sensors can help homeowners detect pathogens that may exacerbate asthma or pollen fever.
"As the level of carbon dioxide increases, certain plants like weeds produce more pollen," Mr Daniels said . ".
"The general trend is that global temperatures rise, which provides better conditions for pollen production.
