Air plants made for stylish walls (HELEN CATHCART)
Tillandsia or air plants are such unusual plants, but they are very easy to maintain, although they look very different from the bright green plants we used to plant at home.
Air plants may grow remotely in strange and wonderful places --
You can even plant them on other plants, on objects like wires, or even on the side of the building.
Many people think that plants in the air are strange.
But if you want
They can make exquisite plants for the stylish interior design.
In fact, these hanging pieces look amazing compared to the gray shades of the walls. The copper-
Edged holder is lucky to find in a vintage shop that its air factory is very nice and beautifully sets off white pottery jars.
It's a great show for a bare wall, it really needs some interest, you can easily attach the air plants to the bark: in order to do this, I use although you can also use if you have a hot glue gun, which is by far the fastest way.
Plants can be installed at any time of the year and the roots grow when conditions are optimal
Ideally, the weather is warm and the humidity is high.
To keep the humidity level, regularly haze your air plants.
Gardening trends: the rise of unusual textures and shapes of "kokedama" brings a modern flavor to the fleshy plants (HELEN CATHCART)
"I hope I have more time and this stylish presentation is essential!
Gardener, the gardener who "I always forget to water the plants" or just the lazy gardener.
When I explained that I wanted to use the fleshy plants in the display, I was very surprised by the reaction of some people.
I was shocked and unbelievable.
Why would I choose to use this ugly plant in an indoor display?
I'm determined to prove this.
The meat camp is wrong.
Meat plants are often considered unfair.
Unfortunately, they often imagine sad, lonely plants, childhood gifts or bad Mexican restaurants in the bathroom.
However, it's easy for you to fall in love with them if you put them in the wellthought-
Factory display.
Maybe strange shapes, fleshy leaves, or deformed spheres, but I do think they make very modern and stylish interior plants.
They are simple plants that are simple, streamlined and easily add a "Desert Fashion" look to any home.
It would be fun to put a juicy display together
You can definitely include the weirdness and beauty of the place.
I chose some of my favorites, including Crassula ovata (
Jade or monetary plants)
, Sempervivum tectorum (
A common hen or hen. and-chicks)
Aloe 'pingto', bergamot, coriander (paddle plant)
, Epipremnum fern (devil’s ivy)
"Fred Ives", "clazura peleta "(
Button string)
, Pachyveria glauca "gem" and stone flowers (
Living Stone or stone plants)
And neutral pebbles
I painted the bowl with a dark slate color and I thought it was good to offset the overall look.
Keep in mind that desert cacti and fleshy plants are like a warm, sunny place where they receive warm sunshine for about 4 to 6 hours a day.
Place the cactus in the most sunny part of your home, perhaps on the windowsill or on the table close to the window. How to grow: comparison between meat plants and industrial containers (HELEN CATHCART)
Vintage industrial containers are the perfect flowerpots for large factory displays.
Discarded steel baths or large boxes can be used to create a cool city look for your plants.
I found this special plantation owner in my favorite antique market, and I believe it is from the United States.
Those "people familiar with the matter" came to the market early to find the best discoveries and bargains.
After making friends with several sellers, I used some old industrial container bagging for planting.
It is important to give a good wash to a container like this and provide a good drain at the bottom (
But do not drill holes at the bottom of the pot unless it is placed outside).
The lush green plants are Howea forsteriana (Kentia palm)
Tall, strong steel growers are needed.
I added a layer of shallow beach cobblestone decorative covering at the end of the exhibition.
Here, the plant also acts as a room partition, a green wall that creates a small home office in the corner of the living room.
• Container Gardening: How to grow pots with cocktails and build gardens in glass (HELEN CATHCART)
Friday evening cocktails are always expected after a particularly long, tiring week.
This fun and frivolous show is a celebration of cocktails.
It's an exciting mix of color and structure
Like all cocktails.
This is a real concern. grabber.
You can't be nervous about this plant display.
It needs to be placed in a prominent position for all to admire.
It is very wonderful that the tall plant in the center of the vase is a pitcher plant called white leaf sand fish, and for me, it is a funny reminder of the sugary cocktails served in the hands of the big shots.
This is not the case here, however.
In this presentation, the piggies are elegant and sculptural.
You need to be careful, however, because the pitchers are carnivores and have a deep cavity filled with liquid, known as traps, for catching unlucky insects.
While this may sound ominous, the plants in the photo are dormant and there is no risk (yet! )
Passing flies or fingers
Tank plants prefer wet and humid environments, so make sure that the potted mixture is kept moist.
Rather than using tap water, use distilled water or rain water, or water collected from condensate, or even water collected from air --conditioner.
I would also suggest planting pig cage grass in the soil
Less potted mixture, part of the mud coal-
Replace it with a portion of the sterilized sand.
To keep moisture, I put a layer of bark debris on the top of the potted mixture.
Water tank plants also need plenty of sunlight, so be sure to put them in places that receive at least six to eight hours of direct sunlight a day during the summer.
There are handsome Viola x wittrockiana around the pig cage grass (pansies)
Beautiful little flower, in this case, is a beautiful deep color.
The three-color flower is a large group of plants with multiple colors. it is the result of two wild violet crosses and is said to attract love.
How to use these aerial gardens to make recycling of tiny container gardens fashionable (HELEN CATHCART)
In this creative project, I chose three green wine bottles.
Recycling and re
Using containers is a great way to make the most of your budget gardening.
You don't really need it.
Just some ingenuity to create cute green pictures.
The lush greenery and purple plants dripping from the bottle work very well in the kitchen.
They look great on any window, especially on steel
This is a lovely feature of this kitchen pantry.
The plant used is the flowering apple (fern begonia)
Pompous (
Cactus dancing bone)
And Banyan Tree (weeping fig).
To create a hanging bottle, carefully rate the bottle with the bottle cutter.
Put hot water on a part of the bottle and then put cold water immediately.
Pour more hot water into the glass and the end of the bottle should fall off.
Smooth the wound with sandpaper.
You can use the bottom as a small bowl of trinkets.
Remove the plants of your choice from the container and fix the roots neatly
Balls with moss and sheet metal in order to make a small ball suitable for the bottom of the bottle.
Connect the two wires to the root ball and make sure they are long enough to get you through the bottle that is ready to hang.
Carefully pass the two long wires through the bottle and be careful not to damage the leaves of the plant.
Repeat the process for each bottle and then hang the bottle from the ceiling.
Hanging the bottle on different levels will make the eyes more beautiful
CAPTURE display.
Once the plants are firmly fixed in the bottle, you need to water them once a week.
To do this, carefully pour a steady stream of water into the neck of the bottle to suppress the potted mixture and Moss.
The moss carpet covered by indoor seedlings on pots and cloaks gives a mysterious atmosphere (HELEN CATHCART)
One day, on the street in Hampstead, London, I was struck by a scene in the shop window.
There is a moss-covered carpet and some cloakrooms with shoes.
This makes me think: why don't you have such a "scene" in your family "?
Indoor plants do not need to be kept in traditional containers and you can definitely create scenes with different themes.
I really like this special exhibition because it's a real one --
Reminds me of the plug of the mysterious woodland landscape.
This is also a great way to show off your indoor plants when you have friends coming over for dinner, or just to please yourself.
To create this scene, I paved a lush moss carpet with a mixture of bread, reindeer and thin slices of Moss, and then I adorned it with fleshy plants to provide extra texture and
I use a variety of fleshy plants, including Sempervivum tectorum (
A common hen or hen. and-chicks)
, The beauty of the worm (
Snowball in Mexico)
, Anacampseros rufescens, Jovibarba hirta 'Andreas smit' and Echeveria 'imbricata 'but any one can be used for this presentation
The pieces of driftwood create a wonderful feeling of dirt, which is further enhanced by shells and more moss.
The fireplace is the perfect place to show, while the glass cover, with small clay pots planted with more moss, creates an atmosphere of fantasy and mystery, it is recommended that you find hidden treasures nearby.
I also used three different ferns.
A tenacious Fern, an iron grass (Iron Fern)
I put them all in the moss carpet.
I put a blue noodle (hairy lip fern)
In the fireplace
These ferns have increased their height and created the illusion of the forest.
Texture is very important in this presentation.
Ferns are one of the oldest species, with thousands of species.
The air purifier is very good as an indoor plant.
They also brought the real "Jurassic Park" feeling for the show.
The way to beautify the scene is endless, so let your imagination break out and create your own secret garden.
Note that this scene is not a "forever" display, but if you want to keep it for a few months, you can put Moss in the tray and make sure you water them regularly.
The native herbs in the kitchen look and taste great (HELEN CATHCART)
Use fresh herbs immediately in your home cooking.
What's more satisfying than reaching out to pick some fresh Native rosemary and roast lamb on Sunday?
Paris and other apartment residents living in mainland European cities often lack outdoor space, so they make the most of the balcony and indoor planting areas.
Stroll through the streets of Paris and look up at the sky and you will often see apartments lined with window frames and lush balconies.
Parisians like to plant their own herbs and produce for cooking, and don't think the lack of outdoor space is a barrier.
I bought this French wooden crate in an antique market and especially liked Mondo Saint-Émilion wine—
I was told it was a good year. The rustic-
Looking for crates is the perfect choice for herbs placed inside, creating a picturesque miniature French herbal garden.
You can often find wooden cases in antique and antique shops;
Sometimes, you may find a neglected fragment behind the store that contains other pieces --
They are usually cheap and you can bargain with the seller.
The compact hundred miles in this crate look great.
A hundred miles can be planted indoors.
It just needs a bright windowsill and some basic care and attention to thrive.
The exciting scent that comes out of Rosemary is delicious, and this aromatic, rich herb can be used in many dishes.
It is very easy to plant and as a Mediterranean herb it will appreciate the sunny places.
Finally, lavender plants make a lovely companion for thyme and rosemary.
Lavender is hard to resist, with beautiful flowers and equally eye-catching aromas.
It gives the cooking a subtle taste, especially in the light dessert.
