Understanding what disease you have is important to figure out how to treat and how to get rid of it.
Garyl hayster in New York City thought he had a sinus infection when he went to the doctor-but he was wrong.
"I can't get rid of it, and I can't get rid of it," said hayster, 48 . ".
"So (my doctor) tested me and found that I was allergic to mites, which I never knew before.

Most patients get confused and often don't know what kind of medical conditions they're dealing with, says Jonathan Field.
"If they have a fever, if the headache is more severe, or if they lose their sense of smell, then it sounds like a sinus infection to me," Field said . ".
If you are prone to sinus infection, try to prevent it with flushing, or do an allergy test.
Cold and sinus infections are usually caused by indoor allergies such as dust, mold and pet dandruff, Field said.
"Colds tend to be mild and you have typical symptoms like runny nose, itchy eyes-a little sore throat and a slight muscle pain but overall you feel good, Field said.
He added that cold symptoms should not last more than a week.
Taking zinc at the beginning of a cold can reduce the duration of the disease and the severity of the symptoms.
However, the flu is more severe-symptoms of muscle pain and fatigue are more obvious and you will definitely have a fever.
The flu outbreak was very sudden, Field added.
Prescription drugs are the only way to treat flu, which can be fatal.
As many as 36,000 Americans die from the flu each year, so if you think you may have the flu, see a doctor immediately.
Flu vaccination is the best precaution.
