Most golf carts can be cleaned on the workbench.
Removing the carburetor from the golf cart engine is a problem of disconnecting the fuel line and throttle cable, and also removing the nut that will fix the carburetor on the intake manifold.
The carburetor cleaner spray and brush work to remove dirt and steam paint from the carburetor body.
The reconstruction kit for the specific model of the carburetor you are cleaning will have the correct replacement screws, nozzles and washers.
Laying a cloth or floor pad on the work table helps to track the parts of the carburetor.
Loosen the hex bolt with a box wrench and remove the air filter at the back of the carburetor.
Use a screwdriver to remove the screws that hold the floating bowl to the underside of the carburetor.
Place the bowl, washer and float on one side and remove the main jet and idle jet from the carburetor body with a flat screwdriver.
Clean the interior of the float bowl with a spray cleaner and brush to remove any paint.
Pour the residual detergent into a small pan or plastic container.
Turn the idle adjustment screw all the way with a flat screwdriver until it stops and note down the exact number of turns.
Twist the adjustment along the way and put it aside.
Spray the carburetor body inside and outside with a cleaner.
Clean the jet port, idle adjustment port and choke plate using the pipe port on the spray tank.
Clean the dirt and sediment on the body using a brush.
Wipe the carburetor with a dry cloth.
Reassemble the carburetor using the replacement parts in the reconstruction kit.
Insert the main jet and idle jet into the fuselage.
Tighten them with a flat screwdriver until they are safe.
Insert the idle adjustment screw until it stops and return it to the exact number of turns.
Insert the float return spring into the bowl, fix the float in the appropriate position, and make sure that with a gentle touch of your finger, it can move up and down easily.
Place the gasket on the lips of the bowl and reconnect the bowl to the carburetor body.
Replace the filter cartridge in the air filter and reconnect the air filter to the carburetor.
