Harman Kardon Allure review: Hits and misses - at home beauty devices

In general, if you want a smart speaker in the market, you have two camps to go --
Google's Home device or Amazon's Echo series.
Recently, both companies have licensed their digital assistants to other OEMs to use in their own speakers, offering a range of alternatives for the home and Echo series.
The Harman Kardon Allure device we are testing today is exactly in this category.
Out of the box is a clean black box, which is a lot bigger than the speaker itself.
It is a bulky device but still beautiful, the bottom is surrounded by a speaker grille, the top is occupied by a transparent plastic part with a slightly rotating blue part inside

When activated, the light is cloudy white, and when the assistant is called, it becomes the iconic Alexa Blue, which will remain pure red if the speaker is muted. Provide a visual representation of what is happening.
There is a circular panel at the top with a large button inside to physically call Alexa with a mute switch and a small touch --

The size and nature of this strap makes its operation a bit gimmicky, causing the user to resort to front and back movements rather than the smooth circular motion provided by other speakers.
The button occasionally gets a little fidgety about responsiveness, and the Bluetooth pairing button is located on one side of the speaker, which makes it easy to miss, if not because of its subtle backlight.
Most of the speakers are more than 6 inch in diameter, nearly 8 inch in height and weigh 2 lbs.

How does it work?
The center of the show is Amazon's Alexa, but this is the third one.

This requires a loaded Amazon payment wallet for the best features, and users can set up an additional verification step to make sure that your toddler doesn't buy the whole while you're not watching
While it works well to a large extent, our devices sometimes become unresponsive and require the HK Setup application to be re-run

Room audio and context search is like at home, unfortunately even with Fire TV sticks registered to the same account, there is no control over video playback on the TV.

It performs well based on the task.
What about the sound?
That's why temptation makes a solid reason for itself.
The surround sound from the three drivers and subwoofer comfortably filled the room.
The audio is clear and kept clean even when the volume is large, despite a little emphasis on bass.
This is not too obvious, however, that charm is up to most genres and energizes the party.
Alexa has a wide library of skills and also has party skills available.
Music playback services available include Amazon Music and Saavn out of the box.
Is it worth buying?
We need to solve the elephant in the room first. the price.
This temptation will reduce your bank account by £ 499, which makes it much more than most similar products, even including Amazon's own Echo Plus.
You get very good audio, but Alexa support doesn't seem like seamless integration in many cases, and the tedious setup process and strange controls don't help with its situation.
Temptation is a great living room speaker if money is not an end, or if there is a deep enough discount, it adds decor and makes a great sound.
More budget
Conscious buyers are looking for an excellent wireless speaker, an excellent smart speaker, or a combination of the two, there are many ways to get a similar experience in less time.
