Gum Disease Part 3 - Treatment and Prevention - electric toothbrush for adults
In the first and second parts of gum disease, I talked about what gum disease is and what causes it.
Today I will focus on its treatment and prevention.
Gum disease is caused by a variety of factors such as oral hygiene, health, stress and lifestyle.
Nutrition also plays a very important role in gum disease and tooth decay, and as a holistic dentist, I have begun to understand how important it is to address all aspects of health, not just to focus on teeth --
Brush your teeth and use floss alone.
Why is it so important to treat gum disease?
Untreated gum disease can develop into gum disease, a more serious gum disease.
Inflammation can cause bone destruction around the teeth and can cause tooth abscess, pain, loosening of the teeth and shedding of the teeth.
Inflammation caused by gum disease and periodontal disease can lead to inflammation and C-
Active protein (CRP)in the body.
Inflammation and CRP are markers of heart disease, stroke, arthritis, diabetes, cancer and Alzheimer's disease, premature birth and erectile dysfunction, and are associated with them.
The more CRP and inflammation you have, the greater the risk of developing these serious diseases.
So you can see why it is important to treat and prevent gum problems as soon as possible.
There are several ways that a treating dentist can treat gums, but the key step is that we clean your teeth thoroughly, and by doing an operation called cleansing or cleaning and polishing to remove all the plaques and most people will mention it.
Cleaning can be uncomfortable, especially if your gums are sensitive or you have extensive plaque and tartar build up.
In these cases, we can use numbing gel or beauty to make the process more comfortable.
Gum disease or gum inflammation is usually solved after professional cleaning, and homework can be completed as long as you brush your teeth every day and use dental floss to maintain good oral hygiene.
I would also recommend an antibacterial mouthwash that contains antioxidants as well as brushing your teeth and floss if there are instructions.
It is normal for the gums to continue bleeding after they start brushing their teeth, but usually stabilize after a few days.
Stick to the new oral hygiene habits and you will soon see your gums back Pink and healthy.
Crowded Teeth, old fillings, inappropriate crowns, bridges and partial dentures make it more difficult to remove plaque, so sometimes we also need to solve these problems, to make sure your gums stay in the best health.
Having a healthy gums automatically improves the appearance of the teeth and makes the teeth look whiter and healthier.
My overall approach to treating and preventing gum and dental diseases also includes addressing lifestyle factors, stress, sleep and nutrition.
Prevention keeps the mouth clean and healthy by practicing good oral hygiene from an early age.
This includes brushing your teeth twice a day, once a day, using high-quality mouthwash and cleaning your tongue.
Dental floss and brushing should take about five minutes to complete if used properly.
Use a soft toothbrush to avoid damaging the gums and brush your teeth gently.
Change your toothbrush every 3-
If the bristles fall off, 4 months or more on a regular basis.
Studies have shown that using a high-quality electric toothbrush is more effective in removing plaque and keeping the gums healthy than a manual toothbrush.
Like it is a matter of life and death.
If the brushing is not done correctly, it is not good.
You need to take the time to clean each surface in an orderly manner several times to remove the accumulated sticky patches.
Dental floss, dental floss, dental floss.
I don't care how many times you 've heard it, but no matter how much we hate it, cleaning the teeth with dental floss is the most effective, perhaps the only way to remove plaque and food from between teeth.
You can't get your toothbrush in.
So, let yourself and the length of the floss pull it tight, then bend around each tooth, in C shape, sliding up and down each side of each tooth.
The Floss should slide slightly under the gum line, as if it were cleaned under the nails.
This eliminates the plaque between the gums and the teeth and massages the gums to help keep the gums healthy.
Brushing teeth is more important than toothpaste.
No matter what claims on the package, when you brush your teeth correctly and effectively, all toothpaste removes plaque.
It is not your toothpaste that removes plaque, but the effect of brushing your teeth.
Oh, just to clarify in case you feel confused, it needs to be removed by your dentist if tartar toothpaste can't remove tartar.
See your dentist.
Just as it is important for your car to be regularly maintained to maintain a good order of operation, it is also important to go to the dentist regularly to check and clean to keep your mouth healthy and in good condition.
Good oral hygiene and optimal health and nutrition are the key to preventing dental diseases and I will discuss this in the next section 4 of gum diseases. Dr.
