In the coming weeks, a community is working to bring 50 Syrian refugee families to Guelph.
A wide range of businesses involving several faith-based groups, businesses and social institutions.
All efforts were supported financially by a Guelph entrepreneur.
Dan Bi's president and chief executive, Jim Estill, is donating cash to support the 50 families in their first year of settlement.
Sponsors of Syrian refugee families need $25,000 to $30,000 per family to prepare for a full year of living necessities.
According to this formula, the total contribution of Estill can reach $1. 5 million.
On Tuesday, he confirmed his sponsorship and said it was right to support Syrian refugees.
