FACTBOX: So, you want to cut your carbon emissions? - an electric toothbrush

The United Nations on World Environment Day on Thursday urged the world to get rid of its dependence on carbon dioxide and said everyone had to take steps to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in response to climate change.
The United Nations says less than half of individual emissions are controlled by individuals.
For anyone eager to reduce their carbon footprint, it suggests the following.
* Wake up with the traditional wind-
Alarm clock, not electronic alarm clock: save nearly 48 grams (g)
Carbon dioxide (CO2)each day.
* Non-brush
Electric toothbrush: avoid carbon dioxide emissions of nearly 48g. * Replace a 45-
Exercise a minute on a treadmill jogging in a nearby park: save nearly 1 kg of carbon.
* Heat the rolls with a toaster instead of an oven for 15 minutes: save nearly 170 grams of carbon dioxide.
* Take the train instead of the car to the office: only 8 km away (5 miles)can save 1. 7 kg of CO2.
* Turn off computers and tablets during lunch break and off work: this will reduce the carbon dioxide emissions generated by these appliances --third.
* Install water-
Save on shower heads.
This will save 10 liters of water per minute and halve CO2 emissions
Hot shower in minutes.
* Switch from regular 60-
From light bulbs to energy-
Compact fluorescent lamps for energy saving.
* Dry clothes on the washing line instead of the drum dryer: knock 2.
Your total carbon dioxide is reduced by 3 kg.
* Pack a light suitcase: if passengers from each airline cut their luggage below 2 million and purchase duty-free goods upon arrival, 20 kg tons of CO2 can be saved each year.
