In many events, this is an event that highlights the urgent need for motorists to become more aware of blind pedestrians.
Since October is the eye care Publicity Month, The KZN deaf-blind Association urges public participation in the "distinctive walk" to be held on Sunday, October 15, in conjunction with the International White Cane Day, which is celebrated every year.
The start is at the Belea Rover, where participants will head to the Blue Lagoon through the waterfront and finally return to the rover.

Participants in the KM event will be encouraged to walk in pairs, one of whom is partially blindfolded and led by the other --
During half the walk, the characters reversed.
Shamila Surjoo, director of Kznods, explains why walking takes place on public roads: "We can choose the promenade for a walk, but, it will lose the impact of the message we are trying to convey to the driver --
They need to be careful and be aware of blind pedestrians and athletes.
"In addition to the fun of walking, the event will provide a variety of food stalls and entertainment venues.
Now, there are only R50 entries for "eye walking" per person, including one eye mask per pair of eyes.
The top 500 adults will receive free T-
Shirts and the top 500 children under the age of 12 will get free handkerchiefs, so hurry in today. Visit www. eventtiming.
