Electric Toothbrush Battery Replacement (Oral B / Braun Vitality) - battery toothbrush
Hi there -
This is an overall fix and upgrade!
I have been using this electric toothbrush for a few years.
Gradually, the battery loses its ability to hold the charge to where it needs to be inserted (
Or on the charging bracket)every few days.
I think I will try to change the battery (
Actually, I found a cell)
See if I can get a performance boost at the same time.
As with many of my instructions, you can read the steps here, or you can sit down, relax, watch the video embedded here, or browse the YouTube channel I linked here.
Remove the brush head 2)
Use a small adjustable wrench to place it on the plane of the white plastic part of the toothbrush, as shown in the figure, and twist the wrench counter-clockwise 3)
After about 30 degrees of distortion, the white plastic should be removed from the main body of the toothbrush, and once released, the internal mechanism should slide out easily.
Be careful not to lose the spring at the bottom of the mechanism (
Inside copper coil).
Leave the body and the spring-
We don't need these until we come and reassemble the toothbrush.
One side of the mechanism is PCB (
Printed circuit board)
, PCB control battery charging (battery)
Motor can also be driven.
The PCB also has short buttons near the top.
Turn this mechanism around and we can see this cell.
Yellow color). De-
Soldering 4 tabs to keep PCB and battery position.
Two of the labels were transferred to the motor, and the other two were transferred to positive and negative cells.
The negative label on the battery needs to be bent up in order to remove the PCB.
Once this is done, the PCB can simply be lifted from the rest of the mechanism.
After the PCB is removed, the battery can be simply slid out of the body of the mechanism.
I'm not quite sure about the capacity of the original battery, but there are 600 numbers on the outside of it, so I'm assuming this refers to 600 mAh.
I will replace this old NiCd battery with an Eneloop NiMh battery with a capacity of 2000, so I hope (at least)
Increase in time between expenses (
Compared to the original cell).
I have a battery spot welding machine and I have connected two battery labels once but the labels can be connected by welding
Just keep it easy with the heat you apply to the end of the cell to make sure you don't damage the cell itself!
Now it's time to start over. assembly!
First, new cells must slide back into the body of the mechanism.
Carefully align the positive label of the cell with the slot so that it is aligned with the previously uncancelled popthe 4 connector
Need to re-Weldsoldered!
Keep in mind that the negative label needs to be bent 90 degrees in order to weld it to the pcb, the spring at the bottom is inserted into the coil and the assembly can slide back into the body.
Ensure that the parts are aligned by ensuring that the switch on the PCB is aligned with the button molding outside the housing.
Then the two parts are firmly pressed together and they should break in one shot --so to speak.
At first I found out that the toothbrush didn't work but I found it re-
When I put the internal chip back into the charging bracket for the time being, it was full of energy.
Now you're done!
Within 3 weeks of completion I only charged my toothbrush once
Even then, it's not completely discharged as it used to be!
