eal - the shoe dryer - shoe dryer
The shoe dryer is a school project where we are making the shoe dryer.
We will use the Arduino MEGA, two computer fans and the DHT11 humidity sensor.
The dryer can dry three types of shoes for children's shoes, running shoes and boots.
Projekt is divided into two parts.
The first part is about industry. 0.
Here, we will build a smart connection between Arduino and software that can display data sent by Arduino in real time.
To do this, we choose to use nodes-
In red, we will make a user interface in which to display the real-time data of Arduino.
The second part is to record the data into the database.
To do this, we use the Wamp server and the Visual Studio application to control the Arduino and receive/send data from the Wamp server.
The design of the box is drawn in Autodesk Inventor.
Then convert the drawing.
Cut wood and plexiglass by laser cutting machine.
The box is put together with hands and glue.
We borrowed laser cutting machines and materials from FabLAB (is a flow-
Programming based tools (
We have created a user interface that allows us to view real-time data (
Temperature, humidity and program selection)
The Arduino can also be remotely controlled from the Arduino board. Node-
RED displays real-time data for Arduino using html pages.
This and the control are implemented via a serial port connection.
Making programs in nodes
RED is roughly a drag-and-drop feature, with some javascript attached to make the page where we display real-time data work properly.
Arduino is the controller of the shoe dryer.
We are using Arduino MEGA 2560 (
Two electric fans and a 12 v battery.
To measure the temperature and humidity in the shoes, we used the DHT11 temperature and humidity module.
Since the Arduino only outputs 5 v and the fan needs 12 v, a 12 v battery is required.
To make it work, we used two normal open-circuit relays.
These relays will receive signals from Arduino and then 12 v from battery to two fans.
The code itself contains descriptions and comments that can be downloaded on this page. Visual Studio (
Integrated development environment (IDE)
Here you can develop anything from a web page or application to a database or computer program.
We created an application using Visual Studio that can control the Arduino when sending/receiving to the local database.
The program is written in C. The Code Download contains instructions and comments.
But the meaning of the code is to create a program in which we can control our dryer while sending data from Arduino and local databases and receiving data in another way.
WampServer is an easy way to make a local server (Database).
We use WampServer to create a SQL database in which we store and retrieve data from Arduino through Visual Studio.
The database we created can only be accessed locally, everything is pre-prepared, so if you can't code, you can still add tables with columns and rows using the interface.
From there, there is only one line in Visual Studio and you have a connection.
Very friendly beginner.
