diy shop air cleaner - home air cleaner
After building my new store, I quickly realized that it was really hard to breathe with all the dust I made.
After coughing up my lungs, I decided to make a DIY store air purifier before my lungs were blocked by sawdust.
That's what I think.
It is essentially just a wooden box with a blower motor that sucks in dirty air through a set of filters and blows out fresh clean air.
If you would like to copy the SketchUp drawings for this project for free, you can download them from my website by clicking on HEREMaterials and the tools used: 3/4-1 3/4 "plywood 8 × 8 Air Register16x20x1 Air filter8" inline duck fantasy sawsaw saw cutter sawbelt measuring speed square combo squaren use the free plan you downloaded from my website, nikon d5500 action CamMicrophoneShop tripodpodlight (

, Cut 3/4 "plywood according to the cutting list.
I cut the pieces into a rough size with a hand held round saw and finished on the table saw.
I like this method because it allows me to break the parts down into more manageable sizes before tearing them into final sizes on the table saw.
Please see the plan and video for reference.
Now that you have cut all the parts, it is time to cut the circle of the fan, cut the bottom, the square of the air register before cutting.
You can use any tool that can cut wood, but I use the Black and Decker matrix and clamp saw accessories I trust.
Please see the plan and video for reference.
It's time to assemble the wooden box.
The construction of the box is simple, I connect the pieces together with glue and Brad nail.
Refer to the plans and videos above for details on how I can do this and hope it will help you find out how to assemble your plans and videos.
Please see the plan and video for reference.
The filter I use for this air purifier measures 16 "x 20" x 1 ", so I designed my air purifier to hold the filter of this size.
According to the cut list in my free plan, I cut the 1 "wide adhesive slats and used them to create a frame to hold the filter.
I measure and mark the position of the filter frame and connect the strip with the wood glue and Brad nail.
Once I have attached all the frames I have attached the bottom of the box.
This piece has a large square cut that can keep the filter in place, but also allows full airflow through the filter.
Please see the plan and video for reference.
Now that most of the boxes are assembled, it is very important to make sure that the air intake part of the box is airtight.
This can be done with any type of sealant, but you can't skip this step.
It is essential that all air blown from the discharge of the air purifier pass through the filter first.
If there are gaps or leaks in your box, air and dust will be sucked in and re-discharged
Cycle back into your space.
At this point you should also install your blower and make sure you seal it too.
Please see the plan and video for reference.
You're almost done now.
There are only a few steps left.
Connect the front sheet of the 8 "x 8" square cut from the center to the box with more wood glue and brad nails.
Insert the air register into the 8 "x 8" opening and use the 2 screws that come with the register.
Please see the plan and video for reference.
Apart from opening two filters and installing air purifiers somewhere in your store, there's not much left.
I hung mine on the ceiling right above the Mitter saw because it was the place where I had the most sawdust in my shop.
I 've been running for a few weeks and I have to say that having an air purifier has a big impact on the air quality in my store.
I'm glad it took me hours to build this project.
Thank you very much if you are so far away.
