A nasty shopper walked into the supermarket and found someone replacing the top of an electric toothbrush with an old toothbrush.
Jack Laws, a 31-year-old facility assistant, and his wife, Tamlyn, shopped at Sainsbury's in broolly Rockport, where he discovered it two weeks ago.
Mr. Laws decided to post the photo on Facebook on Tuesday when he visited the store and noticed that the display brush was still on the shelf.
He told the Standard: "It looks shabby to me.
This is not a person who quickly brushes his teeth in the store.
"I think it's a bit cheeky that someone came in and changed it craftily.
"It made me not buy a toothbrush.
His Facebook post gained more than 1,000 shares in less than a day because users thought the culprit was "disgusting ".
Karolina Oseckyte released: "It's a disgusting level of 2000000.
"Obviously, the exchange is not a robbery," wrote Connie gheny . ". . . . LOL. . . ewwww. . . .
Dirty toe rag.
Maximillian Mann said: "I would love to meet someone who is so interested in dental care that they need to change their toothbrushes on a regular basis, but absolutely refuses to pay for 50 p or any cheap toothbrush.
"I want to change a pint with him.
Mr. Laws said that he regretted not reporting the second-hand display head to the customer service, adding that if he saw it on his next purchase, he would raise it to the staff.
A spokesman for Sainsbury said: "Product quality is always the top priority.
"In this case, it is clear that the brush head on the display model has been swapped.
We're investigating.
