CNN anchor Christie Paul: this is CNN News on Saturday morning. It is 8:00 a. m.
On the East Coast, 5: 00 in the morning. m.
You early birds are all in the West. Good morning.
I'm Christie Paul of T today. J. Holmes.
Newt Gingrich, the Republican presidential candidate, said the Palestinian people were quoted as a nation of inventions.
We will respond to his controversial remarks.
Also, take a look at this live picture from Arlington National Cemetery.
Hundreds of volunteers are laying wreaths on the graves of American fallen soldiers.
If you think it's too cold to get up this morning and go outside, it may change your mind, a full moon meal.
You are looking at live images there now.
We want to start this hour with controversial comments from Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich.
Listen to what he said. (

Presidential candidate: Well, I believe that Jews have the right to have a country, and I believe in the commitment made at that time ---
Remember, yes--
There is no Palestine as a country.
It is part of the Ottoman Empire.
I think we already have an invented Palestinian who is actually Arab and has historically been part of the Arab community. (END VIDEO CLIP)
Now he says the Palestinians are an invented people.
As you can see on the Jewish Channel, he made these comments in that interview.
He also said that the Middle East peace process was an illusion.
You know there's some reaction here.
The Palestinian Authority itself did not comment on Mr Gingrich's remarks.
But that is what one senior member of the Palestinian executive committee said.
Saeb Erakat calls it a citation, which is the most racist statement I have ever seen.
He went on to say that this shows how despicable things can be obtained in American politics by reference.
At the same time, one of Mitt Romney's main agents said that comments like this are quotes, which I think makes me a little nervous about Speaker Gingrich.
In about 30 minutes, our political insiders will discuss together how such a statement might work in Iowa, which is only three weeks away, whether this will also be a big topic for the presidential debate tonight.
Next hour, we will also pay close attention to the Jewish vote and its possible role in the 2012 elections.
So stay here.
Meanwhile, a group of volunteers on duty at Arlington National Cemetery laid wreaths there this morning.
We're talking about a lot of wreaths.
Athena Jones is reporting from Arlington.
She's in zone 60.
This is part of what is set aside for troops killed in Iraq and Afghanistan.
So, Athena, please let us know.
What happened?
Athena Jones, cnn correspondent: Today, more than 10,000 volunteers will place 100,000 wreaths on stones at Arlington National Cemetery.
This is part of the entire American wreath.
Organizers and volunteers are not just laying wreaths here.
They will lay wreaths in over 500 cemeteries and our service staff will rest in all 50 states.
This is the 20 th anniversary of the organization behind us. it has been 20 years.
Their mission, therefore, is to remember, respect and teach everyone about national service personnel and the sacrifices they make for the country.
The group was launched by a businessman in Maine who owned a wreath company back in 1992.
At the end of the holiday, they had extra wreaths, so he decided to donate 5,000 wreaths to Arlington National Cemetery here.
They put them on the tombstone of a very old place, which does not have a lot of tourists, unlike the part where many people you see behind me are here, because this is the last two wars in the United States. S.
Already involved.
As a result, as early as 1992, they laid wreaths in a place where not so many people visited and continued the tradition.
So after a while, we'll see a fleet of 20 trucks who left Maine six days ago for Arlington.
So it's going to be an important day, and a lot of people are laying wreaths on stones to honor our service members ---Christi.
Paul: I want to know, Athena, who are the families of volunteers who have people in the cemetery?
Jones: Sure.
We talked to a woman just now.
A football team will arrive.
A member of the football team was killed in a war in Iraq and Afghanistan, so they came every year to participate in wreaths around the United States, offering wreaths to fallen soldiers they knew
Many of the people we are going to see today are not just volunteers, they are the ones who lost one person in these wars.
It will be interesting to see who will come over.
Although it was very early, people had already arrived at Christie.
Paul: I bet we found a lot of comfort with each other during this holiday.
Thank you so much to Athena Jones. Appreciate it.
They will present two Nobel Peace Prizes today in Oslo, Norway.
They are actually distributing three of them.
As we speak here at the moment, the ceremony is underway and the winners are respected for their commitment to women and their security in the region.
Let me introduce you to them.
The presidents of Liberia, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf and tavakul Kaman, are key peace and women's rights activists.

In the meantime, as we shift here, Russia is in protest this morning.
Demonstrators were angry at alleged voter fraud in last week's parliamentary elections.
Their anger was also directed directly at Putin.
Phil Blake from CNN is with us now.
I'm sure Phil, we want to know how peaceful these protests have been so far.
Let's take a look at what's happening there.
CNN reporter Phil Black:INAUDIBLE)
Thousands of people are still protesting in Moscow.
It began to drop slightly.
The turnout here is high.
This is everything the organizers hope.
The Trafalgar Square in the center of Moscow is packed with thousands of people, and the atmosphere is noisy and warm.
But it is always peaceful.
We don't see any violence. INAUDIBLE)
As I said, any one of these protesters is a very welcoming crowd.
They protested the results of the parliamentary elections held last weekend (INAUDIBLE).
Voting is unfair, there are procedures and manipulation (INAUDIBLE)

Saying that they think their votes have been stolen many of them are ordinary Russians who are not particularly active and have no real sense of politics, but they have a strong enough feeling about it to come and send a message to the president on this very cold Moscow day
Paul: Phil, I'm looking at 25,000 people they want.
Only protests in Moscow? BLACK: No. We understand --
We haven't seen the pictures today. (INAUDIBLE)
We are in the square.
Other protests were reported in other parts of the country.
This is the flagship rally if you want.
They want to reach more than 20,000, as you said.
They do seem to have done that.
We do not know the signs of protests across the country.
We have been told that yes, the size of these elections is not the same, but the anger that represents the outcome of these elections is not limited to Moscow.
It is said that the whole country feels this way. Paul: Okay.
Thanks for the update, Phil Black. Keep us posted.
Thank you very much.
Therefore, we will obviously continue to observe what is happening there and keep you informed throughout the day.
At the same time, remember the principal who stopped a boy because he called the teacher cute?
The principal is also at home now.
Also in front of the eclipse.
It's happening now.
Don't go too far.
For those on the west coast, you can prepare for a spectacular show.
South Florida police have also arrested two people suspected of stealing Christmas decorations from their neighbor's lawn.
You see how the police found the suspect.
When it comes to theft, the iPhone 4 ranks fourth among the top 10 stores.
Next, we will tell you which three projects beat it.
Here's a hint to see if you understand this.
Of course, you can eat the winners and wash them with runner-up after you put them under your shirt. (

Paul: We just gave you some little jokes about the store items.
Let me tell you.
I said about the iPhone 4 before the break.
It's convenient in fourth place.
It is clear that men tend to buy electric toothbrushes and power tools, making them third on the list.

From news across the country, there were new allegations this morning that the head of the amateur sports league had sexually abused boys two years ago.
Two men told ESPN that Robert "Bobby" Dodd harassed them when he played on his AAU basketball team at the age of 1980.
Dodd is fighting colon cancer and has yet to comment.
Earlier this week, the two were arrested and charged with stealing Christmas decorations from their neighbor's yard.
You see, this incident was captured by a surveillance camera.
The victim claimed that she had seen the stolen decorations in the nearby yard, where police detained the two suspects.

OK, this is the update.
The principal is now told to stay at home.
He was forced to retire early after the age of 44. year career.
The principal admitted that he had made some mistakes, but he thought he had been treated unfairly.
By the way, the school district has apologized to the student and his parents. All right.
Don't go too far.
If you have a chance, check out the window.
You may see something very spectacular happening in the sky this morning.
Bonnie Schneider is here to tell us more about it.
Especially you and I. We have gyp here.
We can't see it, but for people on the west coast, they have the best seats in the house. (WEATHER REPORT)
Paul: jealous of my friend snow in Cleveland, am I wrong? It's Christmas.

Schneider: it will snow.

Thank you for staying with us all the time.
I'm Christie Paul of T. J.
So far, Holmes and we have come to talk about what others are talking about today.
Here's your headline.
According to the Russian state news agency, the number of protests in Russian parliamentary elections is as high as 25,000.
They did it this time.
Demonstrators were uneasy about alleged voter fraud in last week's election.
Their anger was directed directly at Prime Minister Putin.
In Boston this morning, CNN's WCBB reported that at least 46 people were arrested at the Boston camp.
Police said the demonstrators sat in during the demonstrations and refused to leave.
They are now accused of trespassing and disrupting order illegally.
As far as we know, the city workers have been dismantling the tents of the demonstrators.
You know, this has become the record holder of gasoline consumption.

Inuit Gingrich said the Palestinians were invented.
He made this powerful statement in an interview with The Jewish Channel.
This is for you in case you miss it. (

Gingrich: I think Jews have the right to have a country.
I believe that the commitment made at that time, remember that as a country, part of the Ottoman Empire, there is no Palestine.
I think we have an inventor of the Palestinians who are Arabs and have historically been part of the Arab community. (END VIDEO CLIP)
Paul: Gingrich went on to say that it was tragic that the Palestinians had the opportunity not to leave the area;
But to maintain the war against Israel.
He also called the Middle East peace process "wishful thinking ".
"So you know there's a reaction.
The following is Saeb Erekat (ph)
A senior member of the Palestinian executive committee said. He called Mr.
Gingrich's assertion quotes "the most racist statement I have ever seen.
"Well, Newt Gingrich is at the top of the polls at the end of the day, just over three weeks away from the Iowa caucus.
What does all this mean?
Mitt Romney may not be his biggest challenger either.
It is said that probably the biggest problem for Inuit is itself.
Here, Matt Towery is with me, a columnist and former campaign advisor for Newt Gingrich and Lee May, a Democratic county commissioner in DeKalb County, a suburb of Atlanta.
Gingrich's comments on the Palestinians, and now that you have heard them in person, you will surely want to know. LEE MAY (D)
County magistrate de Caleb: Yes.
Paul: Matt, I would like to ask you, because you have worked with him, so when people think about what they will vote for and how he will deal with foreign policy, it has to stop them, isn't it?
Matt towery, political columnist: I had a chance to see the whole thing.
I think this part is a bit left out--in the --
In general, Gingrich gives a very accurate historical review.
It seems to me that he used some bad wording and said that in essence it was--
Someone who does not exist or was invented--
This is not a good phrase.
But what he explained was historically very accurate, and that may be the reason why we still have problems.
This does not mean that I must agree or disagree with him.
But I don't think that's going to be a big problem for him in terms of the Republican primary.
The Republican primary is mainly because you have money from relatives.
Money from Israelis and Jewish organizations.
You really won't have a lot of people coming in from the Arab world or any region that might be affected by these comments, which will vote in any region these primaries will come soon.
PAUL: It's not necessarily a problem for them.
But for the American people, can it be said that this is even a signal on our radar?
I mean, in the first few months, don't people know who will fix our economy? MAY:Well, yes.
I think you're right.
I think the United States is really concerned about this unemployment figure in terms of big plans.
They care about work.
They are concerned about the cost of goods, the cost of gasoline, the price of food.
But actually, what Newt is doing is he is trying to support the Jewish community.
He tried to show them that he was a strong supporter of Israel and the powerful United States ---American-
Israel relations.
But if he does, he-
Will always appear. -
PAUL: So it's a good choice, isn't it?
May: Yes, but his words and the way he has done it many times, he will make some very unstable statements that will lead to this conversation. Look I --you know I --
I traveled to Israel a few months ago and I had the opportunity to meet with many Israeli leaders and Palestinian Authority leaders.
There's such--
There is such an unstable issue in peace negotiations and everything. PAUL:Right.
May: So you have to be very careful with these statements that we made as you move forward.
Paul: Do you want to know what he's going to say tonight?
I wonder if you can--
First of all, what questions do you want to ask in the debate tonight, and who do you want to direct?
I will--
First of all, I think someone is going to want to ask the Inuit question, which you think is--from a geo-
Is this a wise statement?
What I think you will see with Newt is that he will push his fist as hard as he can and say I will not apologize for that.
That's why.
You may hear a big round of applause from the room, which is over.
This is how he operates.
This is how Gingrich rolls this year.
So far it seems to be working for him. PAUL:All right.
Sorry, we don't have time.
Thank you very much Li Mei, and we thank you very much for coming.
Matt Towery, it's good to have your opinion as always. TOWERY:Thanks.
May: It's good to come here.
Paul: Newt Gingrich, by the way, we have been talking about his success even if he has recently made controversial comments.
But with his surge in polls, it is clear that people are starting to focus again on his past.
As our Tom Foreman reports, Gingrich's personal life may be part of the discussion. (Start Video)

: Newt Gingrich's private life has long been seen as a fatal weakness of the Republican fire brand.
He has a close connection with conservatives, and when President Clinton was found to have an affair with White House intern Lewinsky and tried to hide the matter from investigators, he clearly liked the role.
Gingrich called.

Try to avoid the truth we have seen in American history.
Later, however, Gingrich's own personal problems were exposed.
He got married three times and was divorced from his first wife, Jackie, during his cancer recovery.
It is reported that the couple had two daughters and the differences between the two sides were fierce.
He married his second wife, Mary Ann, for nearly 19 years.
They were separated at one point and reconciled, but the end was also bad because Gingrich had an affair with a 20-year-old assistant.
Moreover, even if he pushed for the impeachment of the president of the Lewinsky incident, the relationship was carried out in secret.
He later suggested to the Christian Broadcasting Network that this and other things were the result of overwork.
Gingrich: there is no doubt that sometimes part of my life is made up--
Through my enthusiasm for this country, I feel that I have worked too hard and that what is happening in my life is not appropriate.
FOREMAN: he finally married his third current wife, Calista.
They have been together for 11 years and in order to keep the Union strong, he has made some seemingly large accommodations.
He grew up in Luther, a Baptist for many years, but later became her Catholic. (on camera)

Armstrong: I have a few things.
I think it may disappoint some people.
But the tablet is definitely big.
A lot of people say Mario, do we do iPad, do we do Kindle Fire?
I think for kids the Kindle Fire, if you can get it for $200, it's cheaper than buying a $500 tablet, which is very expensive for a lot of pockets.
But I think children do education, reading. -
Let me pull it back. -
Reading books, doing homework, having music videos, apps, all types of stuff from education to entertainment, I think for just $200, buy a tablet for a kid, this is a solid one.
While this is also for parents and those adults, they also want the Kindle Fire.
Yes, it's not a joke.
You know, my mom, I think they 've been fighting technology for a long time.
But they like the iPad.
What's grandma and grandpa doing outside?

This is the exact opposite.
Olsen: Well, that's the beauty of the Sky tour.
That's why I built it to give people another option.
Carter: It really depends on me how fast I want to go.
This seems to be the beauty of it.
Because you want to go fast, just scratch hard.
If you want to enjoy the journey, take it off the coast.
Olsen wants Skyride to be attractive as a means of sports, entertainment and transportation.
Orson: You know, we're not going to sell millions of sky tracks like we're selling millions of straight wheels.
But we may have it used by millions of people, with 100 sky tracks across the country.
For a person who is not afraid of heights, this is a dream within reach.
CNN reporter Joe Carter(
Business break)PAUL:All right.
Let's talk about the top stories in sports.
Of course, the only person who can do this now is Ray D'Alessio of HLN.
RAY D'Alessio of hln sports: how are you?
Paul: How are you?
I haven't seen it for a long time.
Paul: How are you?
This is the case.
How are you doing recently?
Paul: OK, Cleveland Brown quarterback Kurt McCoy's father is not very happy with the way the team handled his son's concussion the other night. Do explain.
D alessio: Yes, he's almost Christy, and he's openly said to the "Cleveland Plains Dealer" that he's very upset about the way the team handled Corte McCoy's concussion.
Mccoey got a concussion. -
Here is the video--
He suffered a concussion in the fourth quarter against the Steelers.
Watch the big blow from James Harrison there.
You saw it again in slow motion.
Kurt's father, Brad McCoy, said-
Oh, look at that. Good heavens. D'ALESSIO:--
Yes, Brad McCoy, Kurt's father said you could see him clearly on the ground.
He was briefly knocked out.
After the game, Kurt even came up to him and said I don't remember anything that happened after this hit.
I don't remember how the game ended.
I know we lost the game and I let my teammates down.
But I don't remember anything.
Brad McCoy told the "average Cleveland Dealer" that he really didn't see Brown's staff undergo a post-concussion test to make sure he was OK.
So they sent him back to the game.
But Brown's head coach, Pat Schumer, said, look, we did everything we should do on the sidelines and he was allowed to play.
It was not until after the game that he began to show signs of concussion.
Paul: after that. All right. D'ALESSIO:Yes.
You know, he has a problem with lighting, lighting adjustment in the media room.
So their defense is, look, we didn't know he had a concussion until the game was over.
He passed all the sideline tests. that's why we sent him.
Paul: good luck, of course.
There is no doubt.
Yes, it's a big blow. It really was. PAUL:OK.
Let's talk about this again, talk about the big deal in the NBA again, involving a few big players, and by the way, none of them are related to me.
D'Alessio: No, not at all.
I always wanted to tell people on Facebook. -
We're talking about Paul of the Hornets--
And Christie. -
Lakers Odom and Gasol. It was a three-
The deal between the Lakers, the Hornets and the Houston Rockets. (INAUDIBLE)
Not to have such a technicality in this regard, but, you know, David Stern, commissioner of the Union, he looked at that and he said, you know;
The deal is not in the best interest of the New Orleans Hornets. OK?
Please note that the New Orleans Hornets are owned by the league.
So, no one knows exactly if this is related to the deal, but Stern agrees to the deal.
He came back yesterday and said, you two. -
You can start negotiations again.
See if you can come up with a deal that is fair to everyone.
This is what they are doing.
Whether they can pull this thing down has not yet been seen.
But it's really complicated. PAUL:All right.
What about Blake Griffin?
Can he get it done?
Or haven't you seen it yet?
Let's say black, don't give up your daily work if you're watching this show.
This is a good video.
You know, during the NBA shutdown, he made an advertisement for Red Bull, where he is said to be a big draw-pong --
Professional ping
The table tennis player is ready. His first game is against the champion table tennis.
Su Yongli's table tennis playerAnd, yes.
Paul: She has beautiful arms.
That's what I said. oh.
As you can see, he started very well.
Then it went down from there.
She embarrassed him.
Now I want to give black a good idea because he is a great athlete.
I think this guy is good at ping.
But I believe the reason why he played so badly was because of her uniform and the clothes she was wearing.
This is obviously not a ping policy. pong uniform.
PAUL: You don't seem to mind.
Alessio: I don't mind.
But if I play with her, it's distracting. PAUL:Yes. OK. Whatever.
Thank you very much.
Are you sure you want me to go back to this show? PAUL:Ray-ray --all the time. Thank you. We love Ray-ray. OK.
By the way, forget Black Friday. Green Monday is a day for online retailers to really watch it.
We will tell you the reason in a few minutes. Stay close. (

Paul: look at our top story and the three winners of this year's Nobel Peace Prize are taking their prize this morning.
They are all women and actively participate in the peace and women's rights movement.
We will tell you more in a minute.
In addition, Boston police have cleared the occupied Boston camp.
Dozens of people were arrested.
Just a day ago, the city gave protesters a deadline to relocate or face forced eviction.
If you haven't seen it yet, in the sky, let me give you a live photo no matter where you are.
This is what anyone sees. -
There was a solar eclipse this morning.
Can be seen all over the country, but all on the west coast, you have the best seats in the house.
About half an hour from now, it enters the whole food.
You know.
Put on your coat and go outside. I don't know.
Make some hot chocolate because it's cold outside in the morning.
Get a good old view.
