CES 2015: Sleep, faffing and rollerskates - an electric toothbrush
Consumer Electronics Show (CES)
It hasn't even officially started in Las Vegas.
But there are already some strange and wonderful gadgets that are shown in huge hotels that host the annual Tech gala
It's been 47 years now.
Tens of thousands of exhibitors, journalists and industry experts attended trade fairs that were not open to the public.
Everyone is trying to sneak a peek in advance and some gadgets are not easy to hide --
I ran into Thierry Raymond of Rox, who was sitting as casually as possible in the hotel corridor, with a very conspicuous prototype wheel being roughly tied to his shoes.
I asked him what he was wearing?
He whispered that they are a personal traveler and will double your walking speed.
"I had a pair when I was a child, but I called them skates," responded an unimpressed tweet.
I made up my mind to see moreliterally -
The way I got into last night's CES was unveiled, a preview event where some of the selected companies showed their merchandise before their competitors.
It takes a while to adapt to the number of products that are flashing, buzzing, and in many cases it will look back at us.
At first glance, some look really old. school -
Flower pot, toothbrush, bedside lamp.
But you won't find these soon in the school's chaotic sales.
According to analysts, connectivity will be a major technology theme this year, and all these projects are ruthless data --
Collect information about your habits (good and bad)
And share them with your phone, tablet, laptop-
In some cases, each other
Build an accurate picture of you.
In the more colorful booth, there is a company called Holi, whose smart lights and sleep partners are a smart phone.
Controlled colored lights, relax and fall asleep with warm red and pink lights, and wake you up gently with the help of blue tones.
The company claims that red and pink will guide the body to release the sleep hormone melatonin, and blue light will wake up the body before the alarm clock wakes up the brain.
If you wake up at night, you can activate a 7-
The minute "meditation plan" of the light sequence lets you fall asleep again.
However, this does not work for babies, which is annoying for parents of babies with sleep problems who may need it most.
Among other sensors, the light uses the microphone of the smartphone to track noise levels, thus monitoring the bedroom environment.
It can share this data with anything you like
Fitness band, Google Health or intelligencehome set-
To improve your sleep habits, such as Nest.
Oh, if you're not that tired, you can also press the "romance" button on your phone, which activates the soft light as a visual cue for your partner, in addition to sleep, something else may appear on the card.
Somehow I don't see the desired effect . . . . . . But perhaps in Paris, the city of love, where such lights are developed, it is easier for people to accept such hints.
For some reason, there is a lot of French technology at this year's final preview.
French exhibitors even have their own small submarines. brand -
"French technology "-
Is it a coincidence that the buffet is filled with mountains of cheese? I think not.
Another French gem is the Parrot Pot, a plant pot with sensors that measure soil moisture, temperature, sunlight and fertilizer.
Due to the upcoming launch this year, it will enable you to take care of your favorite plants through your smartphone for up to four weeks without getting your hands dirty --the app is pre-
The nursing requirements of 8,000 varieties of plants were loaded.
If touching the touch screen becomes a bit difficult, the Ring at Logbar is a device that allows you to operate your device by simply waving to it.
To be honest, it quickly became a bigger obstacle.
The ring has to be placed on your index finger, the sensor has to be somewhere and you have to press it with your thumb to work.
Despite the patience of the demo staff, I have never done what should be done.
Maybe the sensor is causing my suspicion.
It's time to move quickly towards rainbow children.
An electric toothbrush for eightto 14-year-olds.
It contains a gyro and accelerometer and syncs with the mobile app to share the data of your child brushing his teeth.
They can also play a game to encourage good brushing.
There are also adult smart toothbrushes coming out here this week --
Health monitoring is expected to be another major theme in the science and technology community in 2015.
If all this starts to feel like information overload,
Up, known as Viaware, may have an answer.
On display at a separate event
Ups can be reached by some very curious shuttle with neon lights and inexplicably empty ice buckets, and viaware's product is a bracelet, when you receive messages from different people on your phone, you can light it up in different colors.
Founder Ben Isaacson says there are 256 possible colors, but they only recommend eight.
But what if someone contacts you and you don't have them in your bracelet?
"You will find it the next time you check your phone," Mr Isaacson said . ".
"Maybe they're not that important. "Not important?
