ALGIERS (Reuters)-
The country's trade minister said on Monday that it plans to lift the ban on the import of mobile phones, household appliances and food, and impose high tariffs to increase taxes to ease new attempts at the country's financial pressures.
Earlier this year, the North African country introduced an import ban aimed at reducing spending after falling energy revenues.
The ban replaces the licensing regime implemented by the government in 2016 when it tried to ease the import bill.
