The health emergency that hit the capital last year has brought us a staggering amount of toxicity that has become part of our daily lives.
After the annual Diwali celebration, choking smog became a national emergency.
The health agency warned that as people develop severe vision and breathing problems, the situation poses a serious respiratory risk to the residents of the capital.
While most of us think that air pollution is a problem that is common only in the northern Indian states, the fact is that this view only touches the surface.
An in-depth study of the problem shows that the demon is spread across the country.
Unfortunately, many people don\'t know anything about the quality of the air we breathe. Monica Sahai (
Name changed for secrecy)
It is a Mumbai-based company employee who travels frequently to Bangalore.
Below is an excerpt from the discussion in which she reveals her thoughts on pollution and how she pays more attention to the air she breathes.
Q: The air quality in Delhi has always been in danger.
Are you safe in Mumbai?
A: Initially, I don\'t think air pollution is a threat to ordinary montbaikal like me.
The assumption is to drive home when traveling back to the city from Bangalore.
As a company employee, I found myself traveling from Mumbai to Bangalore a lot.
When I came back from a business trip like this, I was checking out a news app on my phone detailing the harmful health effects of smog weather in Delhi.
While I was sitting in a comfortable place with air conditioning in my SUV, the details of the toxic levels in Delhi air made me feel a chill.
This gives me a better idea of the air and quality in Mumbai, mainly in my house.
I invested in an air quality meter to check the air quality in my house and to my surprise the result was absolutely shocking.
I feel vulnerable.
I\'m not safe either.
Q: You feel vulnerable.
What is your biggest health problem?
I \'ve been struggling with respiratory diseases and dust allergies over the years, and most of the time I haven\'t tried to figure out the root cause behind these diseases, and I\'m just avoiding them as seasonal diseases.
With the information I searched online and the first-hand data of the air quality meter, I have different views.
I realize that seasonal changes may not be the only reason for the sudden surge in breathing and respiratory diseases.
There\'s more, of course.
I felt even more disappointed when I further explored to understand the air quality in Mumbai.
The most shocking fact I initially found is that indoor air pollution is many times higher than outside my home.
This is what scares me.
I realize that unless I take drastic measures against the air quality at home, my family will always be in danger.
Q: How do you know about the air around you?
I stumbled across a city air quality index on Honeywell\'s website.
This gives me a living proof of how bad things are.
They also shared information about the dangerous effects of indoor pollution.
Especially when I read about some of the debilitating contaminants that come into the interior space through the common substances we use so often, I was shocked.
Substances such as paints, adhesives, solvents and disinfectants emit pollutants such as formaldehyde, VOCs, and particulate matter 2. 5, 10, etc.
These diseases can lead to serious health diseases, from cough, breathing to severe diseases such as bronchitis and cancer.
Allergies such as pollen, mold, bacteria and other air transmission can also cause serious skin problems and respiratory conditions.
Due to the microscopic size of these substances, it is difficult to prevent particulate matter from entering the body.
Our standard cleaning practices at home, such as sweeping the floor, vacuuming, etc. , do not even satisfy this view of cleanliness and hygiene.

I realize that it is essential to make sure that these spaces are protected so that the air I and my family breathe is healthy and free of any impurities.
In my opinion, the air purifier is a great fighter for indoor air pollution in the current situation.
They are developed to resist allergens, pathogens, and viruses.
We often disrupt the functionality of these purifiers, but they do bring some surprising benefits.
The installed air purifier needs some ground research.
Most of the time, people are looking for purifiers that compliment the aesthetics of their home, but I suggest using a combination of look and function to improve the air quality at home.
My personal choice is Honeywell Air Touch. ™Classic White, low filtration cost and eye-catching design to complement the interior of the home.
I have to say that checking the ambient air pollution at home is a great help to prevent random outbreaks of diseases in my home.
I can see and feel different.

I would like to tell every Indian not to assume anything in terms of air quality and pollution.
This is becoming a serious problem to be ignored.
Study and read as much as possible to help and protect your loved ones and the information is there.
Invest in the right technologies at the right time and see their long-term impact on your family\'s overall health, only brands like Honeywell will believe, they have a long history in solving air pollution problems around the world.
The fight against air pollution begins with our family.
